Ok, Im not sure if you are into metal as much as I am BUT....

Here are my top five metal bands of all time:

1) BLIND GUARDIAN
2) Opeth
3) Judas Preist
4) Dream Theatre
5) Iron Maiden

I got more then 5 and it is kinda hard to pick 5 of my favorites. Here is a list of a few of my favorites anyways in no particular order meaning the first is not my absolute favorite.

well, just e recap - Burzum is one of the greatest musicians, who reached the very boundaries of music with his crude metal and ambient projects.

i listen to a lot metal, but i don't listen to a lot of different bands. i've only been a metal fan for three years, but really started listening to more "hardcore" bands when i was 9 (i'm 17 now) so i don't have a list, more of some actual comments. when i was 9 i first listened to KMFDM, a german metal/industrial band who actually paved the way, both with their brash lyrics and heavy guitar riffs, for many famous metal bands. slayer, imo, has the most uncreative guitarist i've ever heard. 90% of the riffs he uses in his songs are those first used/invented by Gunther Schulz of KMFDM. it's ridiculous.

anyways, to stinkypinkerton: no offense, but i don't understand how any of those bands are metal. while those bands/artists are easily some of the greatest of all time, none of them are in any way metal. not even older, softer metal. again, i'm not trying to sound like a jerk, just saying, that's not metal. my favorite, as for now, is definetely dream theater, but i was going to say, this doesn't really completely belong here, but i don't understand this: why is chimaira not considered a metal band? all of their stuff, at least that i've heard, is ridiculously metal.

lol, i realize i should be giving a list, but like i said, in my entire lifetime, i've probably only listened to a total of 6 or 7 metal bands anyways, none of whom (besides dream theater) are "legendary" so, sorry.
