Been trying to write something for bout 30mins or so now and after numerous many paragraph of trying to explain myself it ends up pretty much like im in a court case chasing my tail and getting no where fast ..
So i said this to myself this whole matter before the courts needs to be simplified...
isohunt is search engine ,thats it, well it has forums aswell which is nice
How can a directory infringe on anything ..Now isohunt cant be blamed with what individuals do with there time...
ok lets dumb it right down...
Car dealer sells a car to a person ..that person takes the car and loads it with illegal drugs and gets caught at the border...
Now who is at fault ?? The car dealer ,the Car manufactures ..dosent take to much common sense to workout who it is, does it? its the person that bought the car...
Now my point is isohunt is a tool a very good tool and unfortunately there will be people that will use the tool the wrong way ,this is life ,its human nature..
Now as for myself i better stop seeding for a month (i got the worse plan .. 15c per meg once over my 60gig cap, biggest fastest plan i can get here in australia) Fyi i seed as much as i get and then some ..im getting close to $2000 cap breach penalties in the last 2 months (put it simply fuckem , i pay top dollar for my plan anyways)
Now i will donate regularly but just make sure you lets us know what goes on as you have already IH ....Beat this crap and i guess its up to us supporters to try get more supporters to help out..
we will all need to do our bit... |

This is my first ever post in the IsoHunt forums.
I just want to show my support and say I hope you kick CRIA's ass. The bittorrent community needs to stand up against these greedy corporations before they end it forever (if that's possible).
Good luck IsoHunt... |

I support you all the way in fending off the CRIA. A pain in the ass for sure, but the communities for these torrent sites are strong and will do as much as they can to help. Even if its just donating a little money to fund the outrageous legal fees. With as many users as there are, I hope for the best. When I get paid this Friday, I'm chipping in for this great site. Thanks for the best service.
Stay strong isoHunt.

they need to just stop trying to sue isohunt.
isohunt doesn't host the pirated content they just index any and all content
just like google
using google (on digg.com there have even been cases where the google cache was used to find sites hosting child porn)
why didn't law enforcement shut google down for linking to child porn sites?
it is illegal content.
google links to a lot of illegal content
they don't host it but they link to it as there a search engine that indexes anything and everything, just like isohunt |

You want to know what gets me about all this? and as far as I know it's not been really mentioned.
Enabling devices....
You know, MP3/video Players, Media Software, and even cellphones can play this media.
the DRM of most of these devices are so proprietary that you almost have to use the devices' media outlet (E.G. iTunes for the pods) OR they have to download and copy the media to the device in question. and before this? You got it. They downloaded their content. All this from corporations that supposedly show abhorrence to "pirating" their works but they enable it almost in the same building.
Do you see the CRIA, RIAA, or the MPAA suing companies like Microsoft (maker of the Zune), RCA (maker of the Lyra series of players) Creative (maker of the ZEN series) and the single most recognizable source for portable media players Apple? even Nullsoft? Nup. I've personally not seen a SINGLE lawsuit sent in any of their directions for Engineering, manufacturing, and selling these enabling products.
They attack the sources for those product's media. Thus creating a downward spiral of demand with an almost unlimited amount of supply.
Ultimately sending the users of these devices to our doorsteps. |

I use bit torrent to to backup my friends hard drive over the web
he wrapped everything up into trucrypt file then used a torrent site to send me the file
then after he reformatted his drives and and fixed what ever needed to be fixed, I send the trucrypt file back to him via bit torrent
I just game the torrent a random name
it works great because we cant always be on line non stop at the same time, so we both just set utorrent to start with windows then when ever where both on line, he will be downloading the torrent from me.
he had to do this because his external western digital drive was failing and he cant keep any important personal info on it as the workers do look at the drives so he sent me a trucrypt file of the drive
torrent sites have hundreds of times more legal uses than illegal uses
with out torrent sites, my friend would have had to buy another external drive to back up his info instead of sending it to me (and he couldn't come over to my house because 2 years ago, he moved to another state ) |

Your affidavit seems solid and is easy to understand. The CRIA is making fallacious accusations, of which I don't agree with.
This is a big event for all of isohunt and net neutrality.
Let's hope for the best and hope for isohunt. This isn't just isohunt. This is the whole of the internet freedom. If isohunt can't index files peacefully and unknowingly 'harbor a den of theives' (which it is quite opposite in the case) I doubt other sites such as google will stand.
If I recall, doesn't (or didn't as the case may be) Verizon use the BT protocol to send movies to legal usage over their FiOS service?
I stand behind this decision. You have my support. |

If you have anything relevant and on point for a counter-argument by all means post it. BUT I think that may be more for the debate threads not the news ones. |

Now that's a pretty novel and interesting use of BitTorrent and tracker sites. |

I believe Gary Fung should be supported by not only our members, but also members of many of the other torrent search sites. The war against search engines such as ours has been one of wearing down the little guys. I actually would think that Google would have a vested interest in seeing the isoHunt vs. CRIA action gets full support.
So come on people, if you run a search engine, or bittorrent site help support
our
battle, it will effect you guys too! |

I recently underwent an ordeal with isp blue marble. They disconected my flippin' internet for downloading from this site!!! These as@#!&*+ don't stop. I am a student at an online college so no internet means no papers trips to the library or e- mail and that's the majority of your grades is based on participation. so if there is anything I personally can do to help let me know through this forum

Unfortunately things like this will keep happening until Big Brother decides to get his collective thumb out and stop the ISPs from doing things like this, because they legally can't (Unless you break their ToS, which you're not, they're just getting paid to shut you off, generally) And actually, the US gov't is currently in litigation with Comcast over this kind of thing.
What we're in here is a war, and nothing less.
The media, ironically, is trying to batter down the first amendment... the very one that allows them to exist. I know this doesn't seem to apply to those of us who aren't from the States, but really, freedom of speech is an indisputable right of man, so the war we're in matters to all of us, because these fools, blinded by their greed, are trying to strip all of us of our rights... and will eventually find themselves out of jobs for their efforts. <Shrugs>
I know this isn't exactly the right place for this /rant, but eh.
Good luck to you, and I'd throw in some cash if there was an option besides paypal, but I refuse to use them due to their anti-gun agenda. |
