Hell of a post. How long would that have taken to type?
I hope you win the battle and you have about 50000 people's support. I can't donate sadly, but I would if I could
Good Luck! |

I for one am definantly behind IsoHunt.
even i, A 15 year old male who knows next to nothing about anything except computers know for a fact that This site that Gary runs is doing absolutely nothing illegal.
I have been using IsoHunt for years and i am Very happy with the results that it has given me.
Also sort of off topic here, I wonder if "aXXo" will donate because IsoHunt has made him a very well liked man. And even gotten him a Wikipedia Page.
i would very much like to donate but i am to young for a credit card and my parents are both skeptical about putting the C.card details over the net. Sorry man.
So yeh that about it.
f**k YOU CRIA! Hope you bastards burn in hell

I need to do some research on this idea I have about Copyright, but I just wanted to get this thought out there.
Basic logic suggest that label companies are getting scared of the internet. I believe that the internet its just a means of replacing label companies all together.
A label companies job is basically to inform, distribute, and protect. Most label companies do these things well. But for who's benefit? Who's to say they aren't protecting themselves from loosing money instead of their clients? What if their clients don't even see a penny of a law suit that is won over Copyright infringement(CI). Most bills and policies regarding CI, are they not backed by almost all label companies?
I do believe that artists deserve to be payed for their work. If it wasn't for their work I believe this world would be rather boring. I believe that they can get caught up in "lies" from label companies, that they are the only means of getting exposure.
The truth is that the Internet along with P2P websites can replace label companies all together. Artist will be able to reach out to people by the millions by means of the internet. And search engine sites much like ISOHunt can make that possible.
So basically to me all this bull crap ISOHunt is having to deal with is a direct result of Label Companies realizing that they could soon be going out of business. And I say to hell with those over paid clowns. The internet is the future and I hope these Infringement acts don't ruin everything for the rest of us.
I am open to all sorts of criticism on this post, this is merely my opinion and by all means needs some research.
Regardless I will be donating to the cause. Thanks guys! |

Quoting millette who had trouble posting link.
| Quote: |
I had the opportunity to ask Michael Geist about this [case] when he was in Montreal last week and his answer is available "on tape": listen starting at 10:24 of http://ur1.ca/6j0 in part 2 of the recording, the question period.
Good luck with the case! |
Although correction on a
common and fairly major misconception
: isoHunt is not a tracker, it's a search engine. |

Here's a little interesting piece I found that you should read ...
"The funny thing about the RIAA & BPI is that the artists are just as tired as the fans with how online music is being handled. So they're trying something new called the Featured Artists' Coalition. FAC's site states in their charter: 'We believe that all music artistes should control their destiny because ultimately it is their art and endeavors that create the pleasure and emotion enjoyed by so many.' As digital releases are increasing, the artists aren't seeing any more money. With the advent of online distribution, are the traditional music industry functions of promotion, samples, radio, and marketing now nothing but costly overhead for the artists? From Iron Maiden to Kate Nash to Radiohead, some big names are backing this new organization." -- Slashdot
I couldn't post the link to the actual article because I'm new but if anyone wants to read it, please PM me and I will send it to you directly. |
