am now off to go Google pepper pots EDIT O.I.C. yeah
btw isn't this Marvel V D.C.?

Yeah Iron Man is from Marvel and Batman heirs from DC. Marvel has been a movie tyrant for the past 7 or 8 years (starting with X-Men in 2000, Spider-Man in 2001) and then dropping the rest of the superhero-featuring films like flies... DC Comics on the other hand has, you could say, little to work with. Batman Begins (2005) and The Dark Knight (2008) are their most notable, along with the March upcoming Watchmen (2009) from the most popular graphic novel in comic history. Even though I thoroughly enjoyed Superman Returns (2006) it was an apparent flop at the box office.

I mean it really comes down to what the media has persuaded it's audience to like, I'm unsure the fight is fair. Well quite frankly it's just not, and probably won't ever be. It would be like comparing Ford to Ferrari. Although the quality is present in both, one company releases a few models a year and the other has vehicles for any particular purpose. The bench warmers for DC remain figures like The Green Lantern, Wonder Woman, Dr. Strange and even Superman -all who have dropped out of the media picture for several decades. Even if a resurrection were to be sparked, they aren't half as likable as many of the Marvel characters. It's easier to pick sides with Iron Man, or Spider-Man or Daredevil or the X-Men or The Hulk, for instance, because you can relate so much with their author. It's been hit after hit. Even though, in my opinion, I much prefer the quality of the Batman releases instead of the rushed scripts in films like Spider-Man 3 (2007) or The Incredible Hulk (2008).

Bah, I'm rambling. Sorry. But to answer your question, yes Marvel vs DC Smile

@Tyler Reed.
I am a Marvel Comics fan and have been for over 35 years. Overall the stories and characters have been superior to DC. They lend themselves better to the Visual media as well.

With a few notable exceptions that you mention, Watchmen (the best series ever, indeed), Green Lantern (Any one of the characters that have filled that roll), and Wonder Woman (incomparable). Dr Strange (and he would be a fine subject for a movie) is actually an important force in the Marvel Universe, not DC.

Of all characters, from any publisher, the dearest to my heart (although I'll only admit it to you Wink ) is The Batman . The Batman of the 1970's and on. Best story lines, magnificent art. But, sad to say, Iron Man would shit all over him in a fight.

but that is the entire point, batman would not engage Ironman in a fight 'mano y metal' he would research and strike at his opportunity
as for Spiderman - he has some very witty comic line stories that Hollywood(=evil) and in depth story line that much of marvel seems to gloss over - hence Stan Lee leaving and birth of Spawn with Image
yes can't wait for Watchmen, will splurge on theatres if affordable for son & i

-- all my facts are from an alcohol deranged mind, do your own research to find the truth
EDIT
Thank you Illinga (post right below me clarifies things for those of you not drinking heavily) i was kinda right i knew the Todd McFarlane / SPAWN thing
but had Stan Lee must have been stuck on the mind for all those Stan Lee presents silliness

Just a small correction, just because I'm slightly anally retentive.

Todd McFarlane ( Genius ) was the Spiderman artist who left Marvel, with Jim Lee ( Genius ), Rob Liefield ( whose art I never liked ), Marc Silvestri ( somewhat over-rated ), Erik Larsen ( Genius) , Jim Valentino , Whilce Portacio (under-rated) and Robert Kirkman .

These guys left, quite rightly, over royalty and ownership issues. They left Marvel gutted. Although, Marvel became far better publisher on every level because of it.

These seven founded Image comics in a spirit of creative freedom and ownership. Todd McFarlane created Spawn , Larsen created S avage Dragon and the others did their bit to make Image the biggest name in comics in the mid 90's.

Stan Lee is inextricably legally linked with Marvel and would never leave. His name legally has to be on anything they do (For instance, "Stan Lee Presents" is on the title page of every Marvel comic published since the late 60's, no matter who wrote it or drew it) He gains a royalty from any profit made from a Marvel Comics licensed product and suffers none of the losses.
He would never leave that.

Yeah Illinga's got it right. On several levels, very informative and accurate.

It will be a sad day when Lee dies (he's 86 now) and i'm concerned with where the enterprise will go, but res assured he has made one helluva legend.

Tom McFarlane makes the most wicked action figures... especially his work with video game themes omg Very Happy

Batman and Ironman.. Twisted Evil

Well, the question is about who will win the battle against each other, its not about their origins and how they work their way up to become like that.

Anyway, i would say Ironman would win the battle because he had all the advantage he need from that suit and basically you cant imagine Ironman engage in a hand-to-hand combat with Batman because Batman wouldnt have the chance to do that.. Thats just what i think, and imagined

PS: Batman is not a superhero, he is a vigilante Very Happy

In terms of superhuman strength, who would win between SUPERMAN & THE HULK?

Hmm, how about Villains vs Villains? I couldnt think of any for the moment that had the same quality.. Rolling Eyes

the recent posts bring up some very valid points, we must take into consideration which movies, comics, &or television series we might be basing our opinions on

i don't remember Ironman seeking out justice - he is more a reactionary to when he and his suit is needed
while Batman researches and plans his justice to gain the advantage

btw, thank you for your contribution as your first post
and
welcome to IH
happy hunting
