I'm digging sacred 2 right now, it's 12 gigs on the hard drive and requires a massive graphics system to power it properly but it's the best one I've ever gotten my hands on... |

Sacred is cool if you like Diablo clones.
Hands down, best game ever is Half-Life/HL 2 IMHO. |

that's really over simplifying what sacred 2 is though. It's got a lot more to it than the original. Using your logic pretty much any rpg / mmorpg ever made is a diablo clone... |

FAIL.
Sacred is a hack n' slash, like Diablo.
It is not story-driven along the lines of say, Baldur's Gate.
But, ok. You can call it what you like. |

Have you actually played sacred 2?
there's 1 primary storyline and 5 background ones, (the primary twice over as there is both a good and evil campaign) and nearly 500 various side quests in a open ended world available for play.
My only real complaint about the game is they filled it with so many damn npc's and not enough varied dialog for them, you figure when they said screw it to reasonable drive space they could have added a couple of hours worth of dialog just to give all those people something to say. |

No, I have not played Sacred 2. I own 1, however. I wasn't speaking bad about the game - hell I own the first. I was just relating it more to a hack 'n slash RPG than it was a story-driven one.
Just adding on to your recommendation there and providing feedback man. Some NPC dialogue was needed in the first, so I sympathize with you on the second.
It's kind of cool, but now so popular that a lot of games, RPGs especially, are including a "light/dark" campaign. Nice idea though. |

It would be cool, if 99% of the time the "dark" or "evil" options were actually intelligently malicious, and not in the mold of a retarded gang-banger looking for crack money.
As per the OP: Best MMO ever: Everquest, before the 9 million expansions. Scars of Vellious was the sweet spot for it.
Best game ever: Hard for me to say anything but the Baldur's Gate series, but Half Life (1, 2 and eps) certainly is up there, as is Starsiege: Tribes. |

Akira Yamaoka - the guy who did the music for the silent hill games (I am a HUGE fan), did an awesome job, IMO. Check out the Silent Hill 3 OST or "Silent Hell", music from the movie. Which all but 1 song is from the games
Good stuff man. Hard to believe it was composed for a video game. |

Yeah , I am actually often surprised by the level of music in many games, and anime as well. It's common for even poorly funded animes to have massive full symphonic scores along with various popular music themes as well. I guess games are handled in a similar manner. I have to confess I loathed the Silent Hill series... I know that's blasphemy to some people, but I just couldn't get into them... and trying just made me hate them. |
