- You can use boolean operators (-, |, OR), wildcards (*, ?), and phrase search (") in your query
- For BitTorrent: Paste in a 40 characters info_hash, to search for that particular torrent and get all trackers for it

I've have the strangest problem ever. Just recent I moved my computer and now I have to share the internet. After configuring the UPnP to allow any BitTorrent program to use the port 6882 on my router, I get here: I can start downloading from peers, but I cannot, repeat CANNOT download from seeders whatsoever. I've tried the original BitTorrent, Azureus, BitTornado, And BitComet and they all do the same thing. Every program gives me the same diagnosis: "The download and tracker are fine, your download is perfectly normal, all ports are working and everything is fine." Well, no everything isn't fine. I've tried 3 different ports all 688X and all my other download programs (like LimeWire and eMule) work perfectly fine, UPnP configured and all.
Does anyone have a solution to this problem? Has anyone else experienced this and have a fix? |

I DO not know if this will help or not. I ALSO moved from a dedicated cablemodem to a shared cablemodem environment.
Here are some suggestions:
1) Never use the default port. Pick a RANDOM port in the 30,000 - 60,000 range, you have 65000 choices. Its easy to pick a RANDOM one. I like to CHANGE that port every so often so that I don't stick out like a sore thumb. Obviously, try port forwarding, to your machine. Remember the default 688x ports that ppl often use are ALSO often blocked (or throttled - slow down) by ISPs. You do this in Azureus with Tools->Option->Connection->Incoming TCP listen port.
2) In my case I do not have authorization/access to my apartments router. This was a simple fix. In a DOS Shell I ran IPCONFIG and it gave my LOCAL IP address. You do this in Azureus with Tools->Option->Connection->Bind to local IP Address and then enter the address that IPCONFIG gave you for local IP address.
3) Remember that seeders sometimes don't connect until LATER in the download this is normal... sometimes they won't connect at all (try the Azureus plugin PEER Injector). Perhaps you can get enough peers connected to not need the seed, and then seed for others.
4) Check your Tools->Option->Transfer settings. Perhaps you have too few MAX connections per torrent (or globally). I doubt this, but worth checking.
5) Check your IPFilters. I don't use them other than auto rules for bad info. Again I doubt this, but worth looking at.
Again I don't know if this will help and they are all Azureus suggestions, but you did mention you had it. |
