Help, can't download from seeds

As the title suggests I can't download from seeds. Everything else works fine, I reach high speeds downloading from other leechers, but when there are only seeds I'm connected to, I get nothing. My upload speeds are high also. I'm using bittornado, but will probably try something else soon.

Any help would be appreciated.

Connecting to seeds is not automatic.. and sometimes not necessary.

You start off having NO parts of the file.

Then you must DL a part or two.. and as you get the rest, you share what you have with people who want those parts.

If the peers, collectively have more than 100% of the file, you don't NEED to connect to a seed.

I notice that is a LARGE swarm.. my connections are evenly spread among those with MORE pieces than I have.. and those with less than I have.. with the average being the same % as I have. This dynamically changes as I download more and more of the file and peers/seeds come and go.

You have to remember there are some BROKEN torrents... torrents with only 97.5% available... and they get passed around over and over. There are also dead/broken seeders that don't seem to UL to anyone. This is not your fault.

If your problems are specific to ONE torrent... move on and wirte if off as lost time.

If you are having trouble with ALL torrents.. then mention this.

I am not familiar with bit tornado. Can you tell if the tracker is currently up or down.. in the lifetime of a DOWNLOAD.. trackers go up and down a lot for OVERWQRKED public trackers. Note they DO come back up, but you'll get no NEW connections unless you are using a tracklerss client (Azureus or the beta of the ORIGINAL BT client).

The trackers seem to be fine, not overworked, the problem occurs in all torrents, on a file with like 14 seeds and 4 leechers I'll notice that the other leechers are downloading at high rates, in the hundreds even, and I'll be at like 2 kbs. This occurs consistently. I do allow high upload speeds, but even when I change that it doesn't help.

I think I'm just gonna get rid of bittornado and get something else.
