all I had was a genesis only game I remember playing on it was altered beast... and some weird fighting game with a guy that punched and kicked like a machine gun... can't recall the name of it though...
kind of reminded me of fist of the north star...
oh well.
More competition is always good, I don't see them having the resources to push a competitive console onto the market now though, especially not one that would truly be competitive with the big 3.. |
ALTERED BEAST!!! i freaking loved that game "Welome to your doom"! haha |

no the glory days are in the past the systems were sweet but the title support sucked they became to choosey about with titles to port and lost there competitive edge at the end of their console rein there were tons of great games that for some reason they thought hmmm Americans won't like this let's save money!?! Hello Americans like x-man vs street fighter too oh it it's better than the PS ver cause no loading time hmm epic fail!
Did you know resident evil first appear on the Saturn but sega did fight for the right to keep it then it his Sony and it explodes Sega's advertising was at it peak during the genesis years then fell of of the map.
Wile Sony was following form Nintendo's playbook and advertising the hell out of some rpg's like final fantasy 7 Sega could have countered with a release of 3d phatasy star or by being faithful to a tile for once like panzer dragoon
Sega even had a online service where you can play against other kids but lack of integration cause that to fizz out.
then the beloved Dreamcast with it's overheating hard faults that cause the system to SHUTDOWN and buggy windows ce kernel. no they f-up enough opportunities to be great and failed to many times
the only thing they got left is to be faithful to the very tiles they failed to expand upon in the past. the Irony of it all is suffocating. |

Sega was such a big part of my childhood and I would love to see them come back to the console market. Unfortunately, Sega seems to be tied a little to tightly to Nintendo. I don't see it happening anytime soon. |

I don't see them doing it again because these 3 monsters at the market are taking everything.. |

id love to see sega make another console, because whenever there is competition, the consumer typically wins... this is all very highly unlikely as was said before there is hard hittin competition... |

Was the era of the snes and sega megadrive, that the gamer in me blossomed. Although Mario was addictive, Sonics fast pace, and unique style of levels, outranked the snes for what was on the market at that time. Another significant comparison would be the gameboy and gamegear, both in style, and accessories the gamegear was a clear winner.
Would take some funding to top whats out there today, maybe something all inclusive with the game verity of the wii, and the multi media programming of the ipod combined. Mind you if they did make a new console, you could bet your bottom dollar, it would be stylish. |

Eh, don't worry about it. If it's relevant than it's considered ok to post in an old thread. Better to re-post in an old thread than start a new one. You know? Personally, I consider this a relevant issue, they might indeed start making consoles again, not that I think there much of a chance on that one. |

i think anybody that wants to make consoles has it very simple, they need to look at what big 3 does, and do exactly the opposite:
make a secure network [oxymoron i know].
add features to the device with updates.[allow the user to manually patch]
make things cross compatible [sell thier own hakware under a pseudonym] |

Valid points, no doubt there would be someone waiting to smack a lawsuit at them for some form of copy right laws |

Sega returns
| Quote: |
Sega Japan has returned to console gaming, although not in a way anyone might have imagined, with its new Toylet. Bring an entirely new paradigm of gaming interaction, a pressure sensor is located in inside a the hull of public urinals which measures the pressure of a stream of urine aimed at the sensor. Located above the urinal is a color display loaded with minigames that are controlled by the user.
Currently, there are four games available. Manneken Pis scores the pressure of the urine stream which is translated into how much liquid was urinated. Graffiti Eraser uses a urine stream to control a hose that washes graffiti off a wall. The stronger the pressure of the stream, the quicker the wall is cleaned. The North Wind and Her takes the pressure of a users stream to blow the dress off a girl – the stronger the stream, the harder the wind blows. In Milk from Nose is an asynchronous multiplayer sumo-type game where two characters blow milk out of their noses to push the other out of the ring. The stronger the pressure between you and the previous user of the urinal wins.
If the game play style is not eye catching enough, the screens also double as advertising display boards post-game. The urinals are still in development, but as the screen shots indicate, development is well under way.
It is unknown whether Sega plans to add motion control in future iteration of the device
