IF
the internet shuts down. As for downloading :
I have enough movies and series on my pc. If I worked through all that it's time to visit more LAN-parties, and share like the old days. No problem here I guess.
As for the rest ( mail/chat/etc. ) :
Holy crap, no more cheap calls to my family on the other end of the world. But I don't think it will happen.
* fingers crossed * |

we had no internet in our early years, we could live without it even now. |

I just started on the net. I would have to choke the @#$% out of someone. This is my only escape from the a@#holes in my world. Stop it your scaring the crap out of me. I need my isoHunt. It is all I really enjoy when my boys are at school. |

maybe a necro job Sid, but still, very very very relevant...
If IH and all those shut down, I'd probably just sit there, dumbfounded, rocking back and forth, back and forth... Then I'd rant on facebook and anywhere else I can... then go back to rocking back and forth....
Now if the ENTIRE internet shut down, I'd go insane having to pay attention to my kids all the time again |

all the major players on IH have an irc presence , and i think things would revert to that sort of thing, it would be 90s style trading again. the big problem would be if it was a netwide clampdown, then international gateways would be required and that would be a risk. |

I don't think the nets can be shut down....the results of such a move are not possible to calculate. |

To the "what if..." part of the question. Yes, indeed what if...well for me I guess I'd just go back to doing other things. It would be a great shame if it were shut down because I must say that I so enjoy the hunt and the forums. It's been a great learning experience for me and I love the fact that we are all so varied in our backgrounds and from so many different places. It's true that I'm very new to the world of computers and internet and all that but this has been a haven, a place of learning and instruction...honestly the best help a person could have - really. This is not schmoozing anybody, I feel that I've been in touch with some wonderful people whom I never would have had contact with otherwise and even now if I passed them on the street I would not know them. Now, if all that shut down, it would be a pity. Yes, like many of you I have movies and series and what not to watch and would last me a good long while, but I would very much miss the banter and the chatter... that would truly be a shame. |

agreed with johnno, it would be catastrophic to the world and economy...might not even notice right now with how things are lol. having said that we managed before without when it was just a military thing. i would like others have said use it to play games i havnt played and watch the tons of films i have. |
