Looking at numerous wiki and websites, some fan - some official; I am now officially confused and I hope someone can clear my confusion:
I want to know how to start at the beginning with original Transformers, Generation 1, (I do not care for Beast Wars or Beast Machines) is that even that you call it? I think it then goes to Robots in Disguise, then Unicron Trilogy, but i do not know for sure.
Looking online i see some awesome old footage: http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=wJ16d-qpBEE(Robots in disguise?)
I am worried when i do go off and look for something i will end up with something like Transformers Animated, because I do not know enough (which i do not want).
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transformers_Animated
any advice? cheers. |

I'm a Transformers freak but I can't tell you which order to go in as far as Robots in Disguise, and Unicron Trilogy etc. But do not go in the direction of the Transformers Animated. Don't forget about the minibots. I'll check a little further but I can't promise anything |

The Decepticons"
Season 2

This is the best I can do with the time I have at the moment but it'll get you started. |

hunniboo, Thank you for reading up on some ordering for me -- I really need help, and twas gracious of you to help.
look at this quote:
Optimus Prime: You destroy everything you touch Megatron!
Megatron: That's because everything I touch is food for my hunger. My hunger for power.
Optimus Prime: No! I am going to end your hunger once and for all.
That's some good stuff. I'll keep searching! |

I'm not sure if I understand your question correctly but basically it goes (continuity wise that is) Transformers Generation 1 Seasons 1 and 2, Transformers: The Movie (animated, not live action), Transformers Generation 1 Seasons 3 and 4 (ignore "season 5" because it's just the movie divided into episode format for TV), Beast Wars, Beast Machines that's the end of the original American timeline. Then we got Transformers: Robots in Disguise after Beast Machines which is a re-purposed Japanese anime for American TV. Then after that we got Transformers: Armada, Transformers: Energon, and Transformers: Cybertron, these three series I believe are re-purposed anime series for American TV that exist in their own continuity separate from what came before. And finally we have Transformers Animated which again it's own entity.
There are also quite a few Japanese series that didn't make it over here including the rest of the storyline that started at the end Generation 1 Season 4 (Transformers: Headmasters or something like that), Beast Wars II, Beast Wars Neo, and quite possibly more.
We now have the live action movies that are based on the various toys, cartoons, and comic books but are not in anyway tied by continuity to them.
The American and UK comics are also out there, which it might be worth noting that each time a new company becomes the license holder for Transformers the previous companies' storylines are somewhat invalidated, if not entirely. These comics may or may not (depending on which series a person reads) have anything to do with the animation or live action movies.
I hope that helps at least a little in what you wanted to know. |
