I used to ski but then one year we gave boarding a shot and ive never looked back siunce so what do you reckon skis or board???
I was lying on the piste (right at the edge as I am a considerate boarder!!) when all of a sudden I hear a loud scraping coming straight for me so I covered my head and braced for impact!!!! I was reasonably lucky as a spray of snow wss dumped straight down my back. then as I realised that by a niracle I had survived i glanced left and saw a skier stunmbling sliding and rolling down the piste and my friend informed me a akier had missed my head by inches which is a complete roll reversal, most of the time all u hear is ski-ers moaning about dangerous boarders!!!!
but yeah i love boarding, its so smooth as compared to the stacato parralel turns of skiing and off piste powder on a board is as a good a feeling as having ses and of course tricking is great fun i can now olly properly as well as 180 nose fliops and tailside nose lifts which i can hold for time!!! Im well chuffed with this last weeks holiday as I can now call myself a boarder where as before I was just a dangeroyus idiot with a board LOL so lets have ur thoughts on the subject!!!

Skis are faster and more intense for maneuvering. When it comes to bombing straight down a hill or trekking skis win. bBUT!! when it comes to chillin out bustin jumps and causing trouble in general snowboarding can be 10x the fun when your carving around the hill or even walking anywhere. |

I've been a skier all my life as my father owned a ski shop. But about 6 years ago I finally got on a snowboard and fell instantly in love. I agree with mrywe that boarding is WAY smoother and much more fun on powder. However I still love mogels and to really get into them I find you need to have skis on.
I often find myself perpetuating the stereotypes that both skiers and boarders have made up about the other. I wear different outfits based on what I ride that day and I usually curse boarders for ruining mogal runs and flip the bird to skiers who get in my way on the half-pipe. Dont get me wrong I am very considerate of others when I'm on the hill but I do get the "mountain rage" when others act foolish or ignorant and that I apologize for.
So to sum up I love both. Skis for moguls and class. Boards for tricks, smoking and goofing around. |

I can't really say which is better since I've never done either one. OF course I would love to try out both since both seem equally fun. |

i've been skiing(many years ago as a teen), never boarded before, but i'll be sure to try it out next time i'm ever near any snow - don't particularly like the cold |
