I cannot really realistically name a singular favorite type of game that I enjoy the most.

I really enjoy RPGs because, let's face it.. how often are you going to (in your actual life) be face to face with a bigass dragon and tasked with saving the world with your uuber 1337 haxing spells and a sword the size of a volvo. I really enjoy the immersion and feeling of progression I get through this genre of games and the ability it gives me to drift away into a fantasy land.

Also, I am a fan of simulation games, which also gives me a bit of immersion and the ability to put my self in the shoes of whatever it is I'm tasked with, I really enjoy racing simulations that allow me to progress and make upgrades to my ride. I also love flight simulation, I mean really realistic flight simulations that are closer to the real thing than most people get, nothing arcade. I have flown a bit for FSX and FS2004 and really enjoy making long flights in heavies and just flying around the countryside in something small like a cessna 172. But I also enjoy combat sims such as modded Falcon 4.0 which has very realistic weapons and flight models, but what REALLY gets me is the dynamic campaigns, once again it feeds into the feeling of progression that I enjoy so much. Also IL2 1946 I really enjoy as a WWII flight simulator, nothing beats the feeling I get when I'm in a knife fight with another airplane. Most impoirtaintly in this genre I enjoy playing on-line and cooperating with other pilots.

I think it would have to be 1st person shooter with good game graphics, such as FEAR 1+2, and L4D, those games make it so fun!!!

I get the types mixed up.

Years ago I use to play Zelda. I haven't played for some time and last few years I started getting back into games. single player, playstation. I don't like on-line games. I feel like if I don't know what I'm doing right from the get go I'm messing up someone elses game expirence, and pc games - I can't get the hang of the controls except for Myst. I love the Myst games. It was the only pc game I ever was comfortable with. I bought a ps2 just to play them because windows xp didn't like my pc version of the original and I got tired of fighting it. Reciently I got hooked on Final Fantasy XII and now I'm really hooked on Deus Ex Human Revolution. It seems to have a combination of puzzle, stratagy and shooting. I can play it over and over.

So, for me I guess puzzle games and rpg (That is what Deus Ex Human revolution is, isn't it?). Like I said I get the types mixed up and feel really dumb about that now that I say it out loud.

Online games don't interest me at all, RPG's put me to sleep, first person shooters are good only if it is just you, co op ones shit me, you may as well watch a movie. RTS are my fav but they are hard to find now in the proper sense, sports games are boring, builder games like Anno are up the top of my list.

Though not on the list, old school Schmups are my fave. Classics like Raiden, Ikaruga and 1942. Still play Raiden on my Mac via Mame, need a usb controller though. Cant believe platforms got like 3 votes, SM64 is an all time classic.
