More like the worst band of the last decade. They redefine what it means to be talentless hacks. |

Obviously beardo isn't the majority of the world otherwise the band wouldn't exist today.
They aren't the best of this decade because they aren't revolutionary. NOthing significant has been added to our template of Rock and Roll from them. It's a bit harder in this decade because our primary genre focus is more on hip hop and R&B. In the 90's, sure. Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Green Day... take your pick. They've all introduced and successfully produced a popular sound and genre (alternative rock, pop rock, grunge). You can even throw titles at Vanilla Ice or MC Hammer for starting the hip hop sensation that completely took over the top 40 billboard charts from there on out.
For this decade in rock I'd initially think Coldplay as a globally popular and known band. Maybe U2 even. As I said before though, you can't overlook the dominance of urban pop, hip hop and R&B in today's world. and thus, there are many artists who contributed. I'd even point fingers at the rise of Country and new era of Emo music in this decade. It's hard to pick bests and make accurate calls about this decade's music because of the overwhelming decrease in CD sales and increase of MP3 downloads/illegal downloading... which makes it hard to see in actuality what band is most popular and the like.
Anyways. To answer your question, no, Linkin Park is not the greatest of this decade. Perhaps influential, but not the greatest. |

I don't know if Linkin Park is the best band of the decade but they are "up there" as the poll option has it! I seen them live back in 2004 and they were probably my favorite band as a teenager but they get old fast. Sure, they re-invented their sound and theme but not all the original fans like it (including myself).
I'm not sure if there really is an artist of the generation. Everyone has their own opinion on which musician is better. There will always be a hater! |

I loved them when they were new
but as I got more and more albums I noticed this
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kb83s6C2MjY
and it basically just made me realize the thing to do with this group was pick a favorite album and stick with it, because it's all basically the same. |

its tough to say who is the best this decade. Im not really into them but i reckon time will lable kings of leon as the band of this decade, for the UK anyway, im not sure how big they are worldwide. U2 are obviously the biggest band in the world at the moment though so it could actually be them, although im not really into them either. Radiohead would get my personal vote although many would disagree but i havnt heard an album as good as kid A thats been released this decade so im going to go with them. |

Personally I think they are great but I like bands like Disturbed, Metallica, Tool, Slipknot, and Staind better. |

I would have to say that Linkin Park is most definately not even close to be considered as the best rock band of the decade. I kind of liked them when they did their early stuff but thats all. Nothing impressive to put forward. But then again music these days has gone quite downhill unfortunately. |
