Agreed.
As an example of immoral dloading/ internet abuse...
1Someone not deserving it
2 child porn.
3hacking.
4spamming
5asking for personal info which is kind of the same as above two, but is more of social engineering.
6Posting a horrible topic like poopsies... massive abuse right there. should have never revived that one... phew

Music is art, Film is art. Art is free.
Imagine all the business' go bankrupt from this.......
People who have the best ideas will be the ones who get recognised, not a corporate supergiant.

Buying films and music from large corporations is immoral.
Downloading films and music for free is opening up a new world of possibilities for anyone with a creative mind.

May we never pay for art.

why is art free and a big mac cost $3.00? Food and shelter should be the things that everyone has a right to. Art makes life better but as long as an artist needs to house and feed themselves and familys not sure free is the best plan.

High end art isnt for everyone. And if everyone could do it I am sure the price would be much lower. Also a lot of fine art has historical value. When it comes to music and movies there a a lot of people involved and they have to be paid. You wouldnt do your job for free would you? Art in any form is a luxury of life, its not needed but it makes it more enjoyable. Most artist struggle and cant make it so I dont think its a fair to think that art should be free.

i seriously think that these ridiculous bans should be lifted, and if they arent, then all those cyber geeks out there should start putting some effort into designing softwares to avoid these detections, as the intro said, just becuse one person is born rich and can buy anything and another cant, so if he finds an easy way out, so they shouldnt try to block it because these programs are made for everyone.

another view is that okay, they put a lot of effort into the production of these programs so some would say it is their right to charge at least something, so they may just charge a less, for example, even if they charge like 10 bucks a program and a thousand people buy it in one day, they're still making 10000 bucks, isnt that payment enough for one day.

I'm morally indifferent on downloading. I'm not stealing from anyone. The content is not disappearing from the original owner.

I wouldn't care really if I got arrested tomorrow, during my short little life I've already seen all the worthwhile movies, heard all the good songs, played the best games..

I also shared that content with friends. I'd have even up to a dozen people watching the 1080p Bluray rips of good movies at my place.

Nothing can take away those experiences. Sure there will be new content in the future, but I just wouldn't care anymore about what the 'big money' thinks. Yes, I have around 20 terabytes of files on multiple external HD's.

Take them away if you think it will do any good. The fact remains, I don't need anything from them anymore. Everything from this point is just extra.

And occassionally I'm more than happy to go out in a real cinema with friends to watch movies for a few bucks on the big screen, or pay some dough to see a cool artist live. I don't care if someone brands a group of people as thieves; I know it's not true.

Torrents are nothing more than a manner of distribution.
Torrents can be used for legal distribution and purchase via simple software.
Itunes has proven that people are happy to pay for content that they want.
Torrent mp3 collections by many downloaders are an addiction........many have complete works of artists and are proud of this fact but actually rarely listen as they are too busy collecting.
many of the mp3 torrents that are downloaded are by a huge number of people that would not purchase a cd from the said artist in the first place.
Many torrent downloads of music lead to discovery of new artists and subsequent interest in the work leading to possible sales and concert going.
Many independent bands are seeing this value and uploading their art...... no need for legislation to punish me to protect them.
If I were to download something and sell it then punish me.
