an interesting point is as follows.
A father buys the children's film snow white. no problem.
He has 3 daughters and 2 sons. they are all married and have kids of their own. So he has 5 children and 9 grandchildren.
They watch the film together..... legal
Put it this way they cannot prosecute a family for watching the film together.
But a children's party with kids from next door and suddenly its illegal.

Thats so true, thats so funny!, ha ha ha......

What you gonna tell the kids?
“”Sorry but you cant watch the movie because we dont know if your friends own a “copy”, and they might not have seen the movie”” ???

Thats the whole idea of watching that movie in the first place.

Oooo, MY, GOD.. ha ha ha... Maaaan....

What kid at that age is gonna understand that Bollocks??? Let alone able to afford to buy the movie.
(that kid will cry for days!!)

Its like saying your friends CANT ever come over and play..

I wonder how that child will ever grow up and able to relate to others??

That brings to mind a personal note:

Whenever I take my daughter to the dentist, there's always a Disney movie playing in the lobby. I always liked this because it keeps the kids engaged for the most part, and its rare that you have the ones running around the lobby getting all loud and obnoxious.

Brilliant idea I thought. But nowadays, I have to wonder how long it will be until they get a notice from the MPAA demanding they take down their Disney showings.

now, I believe, there have been beta tests conducted of a new internet filter, resembling the great firewall of china, carried out on large isp users

this is a wake-up to anyone living here who cares about the country sliding down the slippery slope to total censorship

note. this is my first rant, please be nice Smile

Australia has never been free. It has always been controlled from London and the system has always been a scam/sham from the onset.
These scum will stop at nothing. One thing that could be done is to write to the local MP in your area. Tell him/her that they are wankers. Use old newspaper cut-outs of the letters smeared in goats blood. Or be civil and tell them they are wankers in a professional way, starting, Dear Sir/Madam, I am writing in regards to your recent banning of certain criteria on the World Wide Web Internet System that has been banned from access throughout from the Australian network. You are a bunch of wankers and for this I would wish/pray/commit blood sacrifice/throw the bones/smite thee/speak in tongues etc that you accidentally fall out of your brand new Mercedes car. Please don't take offense but if you do, stiff shit. Wankers all of you politician scum bags. Yours Sincerely, Julia Gillard (no relation to the illuminati Welsh bloodline newly appointed through international pressure Julia, she's really nice and will do lots of good for Australia I'm sure....)

It's happening in China as this is a set up country by the global elite from almost before WW2 and is a template for the future of all of us. You're born, you go through their education system and learn their shite, if you answer the false shite correctly you get a jelly bean and progress to the next level. Then if you're really good, you get to go to Uni. And learn more wrong shite. And then you can unleash the wrong shite you've learned to the unsuspecting people who didn't do so well and end up putting the bumper bars on the car assembly line for minimum wage. We sheep...Baa Baa....will just love the notion that we may have no power but at least the bad people that were around all those years ago are gone. We are so lucky.

As for the internet. What internet. That means we will have access to information that could take our minds away from the crap they are feeding us and this will be no good. So take it all away I say and photoshop Heres Lucy to be colour and put that on with The Price Is Right 24/7 thank you very much. God Bless The North American Union, the Asian Union and the European Union. Go JD Rockafella you diamond in the F**** ruff.....Wankers....

Sorry about this rant also........

Wow! In fact, I'll say it backwards ... WOW!! It's very hard to work out exactly what your point is. I'm sure you don't really believe all that stuff about secret organisations and governments controlling the masses so can you please just state your point in short and concise fashion please?

In response to Caps.Lach it's public knowledge that the Australian Government plans to introduce a filter for things such as kiddy porn and that's a great idea which is widely supported - as long as it doesn't impact on speed. Australia is nothing like China. We are a healthy democracy and there is no such thing as a slippery slope which will lead to complete censorship if kiddy porn is stopped. If anyone does believe in this slippery slope idea then can they give an example of one from history please? We live in an age when the Internet has enabled people across the globe to get together in places like these forums and say pretty much whatever they want to say. We have never had so much freedom in the history of humanity and there is nothing to indicate that it's likely to change in a backwards direction. What is much more likely to happen is that in countries like China the government will continue to lose their complete control over people and freedom will come to those populations much more quickly than would otherwise have happened.

well, in my country, 1000+ ppl were fined for downloading, i knew some of them, and they told me they knew (the cops i guess) exactly what, from where, and wich program they used
i told them that it was preposterous, i think its invading your privacy its not about censor, its about YOUR LIFE, they have no right to be sniffing around your private life, whats next? reading your email? people must take a stand.

again, they have no right to know what you do with your PRIVATE computer, and your PAID internet access.

I totally agree with you this is all about the little people being controlled and having no say about it. I have not seen any evidence of it yet but but heard rumours that ISP's play to stop downloading of information. The funny thing is that the very same providers threatening to close accounts down still continue to sell larger and faster download option. Do they seriosly believe that the general user requires 30, 50 or even 100mps download speed to browse the internet? i think not.

We live in a society of thugs and hoods who contol us and they are not the small fry on the street they are sat behind desk's with hugh fat bank account from constantly robbing the poor. you can always tell when they begin to get hungry by the news items regarding an Idea being brandished about and usually over night new new rules and regulation have been created.

I totally agree we should object to being treated like sheep, we are people and why should the whole of society be responsible for such things as chhild safety there are enough protection choices available Parents are resposible children and should monitor what they are choosing to view Fiona x

well i agree with all u say except the above. In Australia we have just begun country wide Fibre Optic network and you will get speeds beyond 100 meg a sec, it will soon be a gigabit connection,

could u imagine it? u would love it mate, who wouldn't, the problem isn't that ISP's offer high speed plans the problem is (at the moment) we both can't afford it.

my mate in far North Queensland (one of our states) has got the Fibre i spoke about at the moment and he gets 75 meg a sec! for the same price as 1 mb connection!

so don't limit your mind to thinking u wont need that kind of speed. that's like saying "oh well i dont think you will ever need more than 8 meg of RAM" think of the possibilities mate, forget downloading, just steam, no need for so much internal memory or even a HDD?

The_Audiophiles nice speeds but without the net neutrality and public educated to understand its importance we will have gigabit speeds for little more than adverts to buy crap and ever more restrictive laws to stop people actually being able to utilize such wonderful speeds for things that matter.
All that will happen is the photo of some muscle man for food supplements will become a video and the woman in the photo starts preaching the benefits of her new dietary con.
We will have so much bandwidth that old ladies become 17 with the artistry of digital editing and the hard sell for the miracle face cream.
I don't need the speeds I just want back some of the freedoms we all have steadily ben losing is my gripe.
