WoW coming to xbox?

i remember last year i read in a magazine that they are working on WoW for xbox 360. Are they?

I HUGELY doubt it, think of the 3 - 4 month updates. Added to the fact that a new expansion are coming out soon. It maybe in the future, dunno. Think its justa rumor tho. Best thing on 360 close to WoW, is Oblivion i think.

agreed oblivion and mass effect are probably the best rpg games on the xbox

What about the next-generation consoles? Final Fantasy XI is going to Xbox 360 - surely Microsoft must have talked to you about bringing World of Warcraft over as well?
We've been in contact with Microsoft... World of Warcraft was really built with a focus on PC, and while I think it certainly could get to Xbox, it's not something that at this moment we've decided to do.
We're exploring any variety of possibilities, as you can imagine, and as it relates to [Xbox 360], it would require certain input devices - you know, a keyboard or a mouse. Those are things that are not standard, they're peripherals, and peripherals have historically not done well for any of the console companies unless you're talking about additional controllers or memory cards. Other than that, when you look at other peripherals, they historically haven't done so well - so for us, we're exploring it, we're listening, we're talking, however, we've not made any decision to go that direction at this point.

Actually, thats total bullshit. You can play WoW with a 360 controller. Youtube xbox controller .

With a bit of tweaking, and maybe a button on the controller linked to soemthing that makes a mini mouse appear so you can buy tallents and stuff. Or use a USB mouse / Keyboard ( not sure on weather that works ) then its doable, but not for a long time. Plus i think 360 gamers would get pissed at the fact that their HDD gets very full with WoW patches.

yea they already have that mini keyboard that connects to the bottom of your controller you dont even need a mouse just use the joystick

they can make it like oblivion (first person view too) just make a special controller that has extra buttons, WoW can make an extra controller cause rockband had a guitar so why cant WoW have there own controller

i would doubt it. with WOTLK being the last expansion most likely before SC2, i doubt that they would expand over to the 360

the things is if they do do u think they will try and link the xbox 360 version in with the pc 1

i doubt it

how ever they may build a wow 360 only game which would make more sense to give them there own servers and means of controls since i dont think the current way the games set up would realy fit in to a 360 enviroment with out having to buy a special keyboard and mouse like earlia stated

Actually I set up the xbox controller to my pc a long time ago... with "switchblade" or some program... and i gotta tell you it is not at all worth it.. the controller cannot replace the keyboard. i think in the long run its just worth it to stick to good old keyboard and mouse. with the keyboard you have 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,0 easy to cast spells and stuff.. with the controller everything is spread out and it makes it more difficult. But, yeah, it would be nice to see WoW on the xbox.

While I think it would alot of good for both the console and the game itself as far as popularity goes I think there are simply too many hurdles which would have to be overcome to make it work properly. The controller is an obvious one, while it's not too difficult to get a keyboard/mouse for your 360 many console players like consoles because of the use of a controller and if required to use a keyboard/mouse why not simply use the PC version? It would be okay if someone didn't have a PC that could play wow and didn't have a problem buying the extra peripherals but that would be a very small portion of the market, which doesn't translate to large game sales. Then there's the patching system which would eat up a large portion of the space on a 360 HDD, particularly after major expansions.

It all could be done but I don't think it will ever happen. I'm sure Microsoft would love it as it would only mean better sales for their console but I don't think Blizzard needs the extra game sales at this point.

It would be way to hard to make..
For WoW, you need to use like, 30 different keys/combinations to play(At lvl 70). It would become way to complicated on a console.. Would be nice to see how it'd work out tho Smile
