Not sure if this is a good title for the content... but oh well, here goes...
Today I decided to check the myspace that was designated to my by a "friend". This is the first time I've tried to with PG2 running.
No less than 1,700 IPs were blocked as I logged in. GD... that's insane.
What I want to know is why people are so obsessed with networking such as facebook, friendster, myspace, etc... I mean when I go to any place where there are public computers, 9 out of 10 people are browsing one of such sites. Yes, I live in America.
Is it laziness, Americaness (the whole "I'm important because I'm stupid, bigoted, and 'popular'"), or the unlimited potential to make yourself look more "pimped" than you ever could be in real life?
Then again... there are some who use it for business. I understand and can like this. I beleive IH actually has it's own facebook. Main reason I wrote this was a 24-minute wait in logging into myspace because PG2 blocked so many ****ing IPs...
[/rant]
Okay, that said, who's up for a
Poll
?
Which is the best: |

i guess a large part of it is because Humans are predominately social animals who like to communicate to people inside and outside their normal social circles. Myspace is probably the front runner for its broadness and customisable options, although Facebook has its own magazine |

I was really tempted to click the last one...
I'm reminded of this old picture someone sent me once...
warning the following may be a little disgusting...

...I'll just leave it as a link so you aren't forced to look at it unless curiosity gets the best of you...
...ironically the NAMBLA episode of south park is playing behind me right now... |

Yeah... that's kinda what I was thinking. FB is more elitist, MS is the social sl**. Am I swearing too much lately? I'll calm down
A little.

I don't really use anything like MS or FB. I do take a peek at 1 of my old friend's spots on MS occasionally. We're not really close enough anymore for me to take the time to talk to him...but I like to see an update every once in a while.
I must say, though...sometimes if I'm googling something and a page comes up I do get tranced into reading their profile and maybe 1 or 2 of their friends. Just some classic lurking. |

Heh... true I moved around a lot as a kid and I still am trying to track down all my older friends... heheh
Nothin wrong with that, unless like you said there's nothing there anymore... then you're just a freaky stalker... lol |

Leet got me thinking about lurking...and then I thought of Trollster and how he's always "right there" ready to pounce on a spammer.
So I found you this
EDIT::
I fixed it. |
