I am looking for a permanent crack for xp/sp3. I downloaded the torrent "xp activation" and it was fine. But I had to install xp on a machine that I just built. I had the "xp activation" file saved on another machine, so I copied it to the new machine, but it won't activate xp. I get a message, when I run the MGADiag tool included in the file, "Validation Control not installed". I tried several times to run the process, but it always comes back to that msg. Is there another crack that works? Help me out guys.

Now you're probably going to get mad at me for even saying this.
But you really should just take this opportunity to upgrade to 7.

It's a whole different animal.

Not on this machine! I am going to Win 7 when I upgrade my primaries on my network. This is one I am selling for cheap.

Seconded. Its much better than XP and a damn sight better than Vista.
Faster, better layout, interesting themes and gadgets and already has fantastic support. Very Happy

EDIT

Sorry didnt see your second post.

Listen, I never thought I could be more disappointed in MS OS's as much as I was with '98,...until vista. That IS the worse bunch of S#@t I have ever tried to work with,..or around,...or at,..or WTF ever! I've read a bunch about 7. I tried the Beta, and it scared the S*&t outta me because it booted up like vista! But, so far, there are some very good reviews. I just want to do a total h/w upgrade before I get it. I'm lookin' forward to it, really.

If you must stick with an older os on an older machine xp is certainly the way to go. I did finally get vista running well, but only after a service pack and upgrading to 4 gigs of ram. So I understand your hesitation.
that said, I need to make clear this is not a crack site. so I'm afraid I'm going to have to lock this down now.

The only advice I can give you in the interim is be safe, read comments, and scan downloads for viruses.
