Just picked up Steven Colbert's: I am America and So Can You , and I am very excited to laugh through it. A good series to read would be the Book of Words novels by J.V. Jones , its a great story set in a medieval setting but with a mystical touch.

The Writing on the Wall - Mary McCarthy - pub 1970.

Nebula Award Winners 13 - Pub. 1980.

For a couple. I buy many books at Library sell-offs and whatnot. There are so may good books from the last 100 years, I'll never finish reading even my own collection.
I don't pay too much attention to the best sellers list. I don't like being manipulated by commercialism.

Cordelia's Honour by Lois Bujold McMasters, which is Shards of Honour and Barrayar collected in one volume.

After being mauled by Mochtroid-X in the Do You Believe in God post, I'm also working my way through Backgrounds to Early Christianity by Evert Harrison and From Bethlehem to Patmos by Dr Paul Barnett.
