Compromised by Derek Keyte

Follows the story of a british special forces soldier kidnapped by the IRA...very good so far, plenty of procedural insight from both sides, and also plenty of graphically described "vays of mekking you talk" - about 45% through the book at the moment and going well. Worth a look.

Harry Potter up to book 3 right now. I'm now wondering if my kids are too young (3 and 5) for me to read the first couple to them out loud. I'm sure they'll love it though, dragons and trains and trolls and magic and food. Whats not to love? Laughing Laughing

W40k is a fictional universe where mankind has conquered most of the galaxy but is stuck in eternal war

The Reality Dysfunction by Peter F. Hamilton
I tried this but never really got into it. Didnt finish to be honest. Might revisit at another time as it is supposed to be excellent series.

Night of Knives by Ian C. Esslemont
Now this is more like it. Was itching to read another malazan empire set book after finishing eriksons series(favourite books/series of all time). Really enjoyed this. His 3 books pick up on some story arcs that were never explored in eriksons 10 book series. You need to have read them first though.

The Crimson Guard by Ian C. Esslemont
After finishing the first book, now started on this. Its just a pity there is only 1 left after this as dont want to stop Wink Loving it.

“There is no perfection only life”
The Unbearable Lightness Of Being , Milan Kundera

Do you forget the plot of books you've already read?
It happens to me all the time..
I was searching for a book to read the other night and I stumble upon this.
A book I really loved but I didn't remember exactly why...
I start reading it and rediscovered Kundera's world.

Teresa is jealous. She is jealous of Tomas.
Sounds like a love story?
Well it is and it is not - only.
Situated in Prague the spring of 68 it's also an anti-soviet manifesto
with many philosophical questions and... some answers.

''The unbearable lightness of being'' is based on Nietzsche's theory of "Eternal return"

Yep I know, I have watched the movie too. Few things the movie missed, nevertheless it bored the crap of a larger audience with over complicated post modern hinting philosophy mixed with eternally influenced internal satire on the mirror of love or whatever that was. Laughing

Well I've started deciphering Nietzsche's philosophy on a broader scope; that man was even not even able to understand his own theories at some point. Not judging but when my thoughts collided with his theories the reflection of my perception went "Bwahahahaha what the devil is that"..

Genealogy of morals is a book one should read first as a philosophy professor recommended me indirectly. It depends really..
I'd get back to Strings..
