Excuse my French but... are you f*cking retarded?!
You're urging people to vote randomly just because of two issues? Newsflash, the people you choose are going to lead your nation, you might want to vote for IMPORTANT topics, and not wheter or not they f**k you over for 3 dollars on the price of a music album!

Also, something else I read here, I know you said you don't want to talk about it, but jesus wept...
"I have no problem with people who are homosexual, but the act is not the natural order of things, is bad for society and laws shouldn't endorse it. "
What?! What gives you the right to say gays aren't the natural order of things and even bad for society?! I mean I don't like the sight of two kissing men either, but this is just f**kin degrading.
Not the natural order of things? Homosexuality has been seen by all kind of animals, so wot exactly is the natural order of things? Just cause it's in yer little fairy tale book called the bible?
And how are gays bad for society? The avarage gay makes more money then the avarage straight person, has a very good personal hygiene, and is in general more friendly. So why are they bad for society?
Let's talk about christians shall we? Now THEY are bad for society.
- The previous pope is indirectly responsible for millions of aids related deaths, by forbidding condoms in Africa.
- 80% of all wars in the last few centuries have been started by Christians.
- Christians have managed in a lot of countries to ban abortion, leaving rape victims with babies they never wanted in the first place, reminding them of the event, just cause CHRISTIANS feel the need to impose their "morals" on normal people.
The list goes on, but you get my point.

I thought Canada was a country with decent, down to earth people, but judging from the majority of comments here, I wouldn't mind Bush setting the lot of you straight. Thank f**k I'm Dutch... You lot disgust me!

I posted this as its own topic. But I was directed here so I will repost it in here.
edit:
My original Poll was
What do you think is the best option for Canada right now?
- Conservatives remain in power
- A coalition government with the Liberals, NDP and Bloc Québécois
- Another *sigh* Federal election
Just curious what anyone thinks on this matter as well.

News Flash http://network.nationalpost.com/np/blogs/fullcomment/archive/2008/11/28/don-martin-harper-has-no-one-to-blame-but-himself.aspx

Quote:
This Conservative government’s apparent death wish is propelling Canada toward two possible, and equally unthinkable, outcomes: The second federal election inside of two months, or a Liberal-led coalition that includes New Democrat cabinet ministers and a separatist component
No one knows who might blink as the Conservatives fearlessly and foolishly bait their opponents, seemingly eager to be dragged down to defeat over their plan to eliminate a $1.95-per-vote annual tax subsidy for political parties. The plan would all but cripple the opposition, while saving the treasury a paltry $30-million.

Liberals insist they are riding a national groundswell of support for their positions on the economic update’s lack of fiscal stimulus and the cut to public financing of political parties.

Notions and motions are floating about that would create a Parliament controlled by Liberals — likely under leadership hopeful Michael Ignatieff or, on an interim basis, his rival Bob Rae — linked to New Democrats and kept afloat by the Bloc Québécois on a vote-by-vote basis.

A prime minister leading a governing party that had just hit a historic low in voter support? International leaders would call him the punchline to an election joke. Finance Minister Jack Layton? Watch the TSX reaction to that.

So what exactly is going to happen? It seems to me that in hard pressed economic times Harper has failed to come up with a solution. But a coalition government? I certainly hope not. The Liberals are a mess and an NDP finance minister? What are your comments?

Ok, so theres been an update to this event. It seems that the opposition parties have come to an agreement.
Quote:

OTTAWA — The Liberals and NDP have struck a tentative deal to defeat Stephen Harper's minority Conservative government and replace it with their own coalition government, with cabinet ministers from both parties, sources say.

The Liberals would have 18 ministers in the coalition government, while six cabinet members would be drawn from the NDP, the sources said.

If they succeeded in unseating the Tories, the deal would see the coalition remain in power for 30 months, relying on support from the Bloc Québécois in confidence votes in the Commons.

Oh the poor conservatives, I wish another federal election would happen instead because the conservatives would certainly stay in power. I guess thats why the opposition has moved quickly to some sort of agreement. Thats too bad. Flaherty was pushing the envelope with his plan, and I think with these troubling times he didn't anticipate this. But nevertheless what happens happens. Still no comments anyone?

Ok, I don't consider myself to be triple posting here because the time between each post, but if I am can a mod please inform me. Cool

Anyways...

OTTAWA — Prime Minister Stephen Harper has obtained Governor-General Michaëlle Jean's consent to temporarily shut down Parliament, a move that allows him to avoid a confidence vote next week that he was expected to lose.

It's a blow for the Liberal-NDP coalition, backed by the separatist Bloc Québécois, that was seeking to replace the minority Conservative goverment.

The development buys time for Mr. Harper to assemble an economic package that he hopes will discourage the multiparty alliance from taking him down at that time.

Emerging from Rideau Hall after more than two hours, Mr. Harper said Parliament will return on Jan. 26 and the first order of business will be the 2009 budget.

He grudgingly acknowledged he has to make peace with the opposition parties. "Obviously we have to do some trust-building here on both sides."

So Harper made a smart move. There was a huge group of people outside Parliament protesting his actions... and appearances from Gilles Duceppe, Jack Layton, and Stephan Dion who spoke against Harper. Whatever, anyone who thinks a coalition government is the right move right now has to seriously reevaluate that thought. Come on, do you really want our Cabinet to have NDPs in it during an economic crisis? They have an important role in our government, but not right now.

And don't forget about the Bloc, they'll be part of the decision making if a coalition were to form. They'd be the minority in the coalition, but that doesn't mean the other 2 opposition can ignore them.

Harper has to come up with something good in the next month... a few of the Tories ideas were farfetched, so I guess will see what is to come in the short while.

Normally I'd agree with you on all counts, except that the other parties are much worse. The NDP want to turn Canada into the Soviet Union, and the Liberals are more arrogant and out of touch with everyday working Canadians than a pampered millionaire hotel heiress. The conservatives have some boneheaded policies, but as far as I can see it, they're the best of a really bad lot.

In the end it all comes down to each individual's pet causes. Canadians will vote for the party that most strongly (seems to) represent their favoured issues. My only issue is fair taxation, so I usually vote along the same lines as the Canadian Taxpayer's Federation. So far the Conservatives are winning that fight by a long shot.

Im agree with you

Anybody have any comments on the recent Tamil protests in Ottawa. No doubt Jack Layton addressed the 30,000+ crowd. There were complaints from protestors about the lack of action from the Conservative party. What I'm wondering is what the F*** were the Conservatives supposed to do?
