overdoing the job doesn't really seem to make sense because no matter how complete and thorough your defrag util is, you always get fragged up again...

usually I just use ccleaner (so I don't waste time defragging temp files and noise) then follow it up with auslogics defrag..
both free and they do passable jobs...

I'm just saying I've used probably 30+ utils over the years to do the simple task of defragmenting... a couple of them worked at the most base levels possible and would actually take up to 14-16 hours literally making the data on the drive perfectly aligned and ordered... but it's not permanent and it's not worth the stress on the drive that shortens it's life. Considering the fact my storage drives don't get fragmented, and my boot drive gets reformatted about every 4-6 months whether it needs it or not, leaves me in a position where a large multi option app for defragging just isn't needed or wanted, you asked my opinion and I provided it.
Were you actually asking opinions, or trying to tell everyone how awesome your choice of defragmenter is?
If so that's fine, but I really think you should have worded the initial post differently...

I use JkDefrag 3.36 because of its simplicity and have it set up to run every time I boot Windows. It uses the same API as the built-in defragger, so don't expect it to do all that extra crap that other defrag programs do. Analyze, defrag, and optimize, that's all.

I use Diskeeper, have it running on automatic mode, it defrags smoothly even while the PC is in use or if the free space is less than 15% and I like the GUI, which has now been removed from Vista.
