I want to start out by saying that your site is awesome. I understand the reason for advertising and people will just have to get used to it. Advertising is just a part of life. You do whatever you need to do to keep this site up and running. The sad truth is that no matter what you do on this site either to improve the site or make it more financially sound people are gonna find something to complain about. If more people on this planet would do less complaining and more constructive with their time then I think this would would be a better place to live on and some of the things happening right now would not be happening.
Please keep up the good work and keep doing what you think is best for the site. I do appreciate you asking for feedback. |

I love isohunt, and I know you need money but, I just had a intersital pop up on me, that **REDIRECTED** to another URL, STARTED playing a video, then an intersital popped up on THAT site playing yet ANOTHER video, blasting thru my stereo and waking everyone in my house up. I actually had to hit the back button to return to isohunt.
A slider I can handle, anything that obnoxiously plays sound on my pc without my explicit action saying so, must die.

I didnt really even notice the ads...its really no difference from any other site on the internet, everyone has to advertise. Besides the fact that this site is awesome, its FREE!!!! I can definitely put up with a slider or two for that!!!
I love you isohunt!!!! Uploaders you rock!!!! |

we don't allow that. Please provide more details here so we can track bad ads down: http://isohunt.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=29939 |

As of yet I have not had a extra buck to give. So if ads keep you here I have no problem with what ever you feel is best to keep things going. Not just for the downloads I can find but the forums give me something to do and think about. I am so grateful to my nephew for showing me this site. Do what you need to keep it alive. The ads are not bothersome at all to me. |

Firstly, our search results are currently bugged with missing torrents, due to a software glitch. We are fixing this and should be corrected in no more than 2 hours... <snip>
UPDATE:
A bug has been found and fixed, that caused some more empty search results pages. |
Greetings,
No problem with the ads! I have found lots of great stuff here (and although I don't know my ratio here... it's gotta be >20:1). Here's my concern: The last two times I tried to run a search, I got some kind of immediate notification that I have a virus and an attempt to run a virus scan commenced immeditately. I believe that was a fake, but I tried to cancel it and couldn't. Windows XP prompted me to run or save an executable that was trying to run, and everytime I cancelled it, it started again. I had to close the browser to stop everything.
I found an executable in my temporary internet files that contained a virus, which I believe is the one that was trying to run. I cleaned it up, but for many non-savvy folks, I'll bet they were infected.
Frankly, I'm afraid to run a search again until I can get some satisfaction here. Am I wrong? Can you help me understand what's going on?
I love this site and would hate to have to stop using it.
Sorry if this is not the right thread on which to post this, but I'm not really that great on forum usage.
Cheers,
Z. |

I didn't think you did allow them! And just as I was typing the words, "if it happens again", it happened again..
I was redirected to jokeroo.com, not sure what ads were on the page when it happened, it's a little hard since once you redirect and hit back new ads load.
PS, I'm sure my PC is clean (I'm a software developer). Good luck finding the offending publisher. |

I use No-Script, you can put up as many ads as you want as far as I'm concerned. I wish for isohunt to make as much money as they desire. |

I think some of the ads are not functioning properly.
On my computer, the ad simply redirects me to the advertisement page, on the same window, which gets quite annoying since I have to keep going back.
Is it supposed to do that? |

I too have been redirected to jokeroo.com from isohunt AND thepiratebay. Bad ads? I am also very confident my computer is not infected - I have not been infected for over five years (I am very safe and extremely OCD when it comes to my computer's health). |

I don't think anyone could say that they're exited or ecstatic about ads, but hey. IH & TPB are the only two sites that have this much for the users, IH being prominent in features imho. We got forums, a lot of torrent indexing types, lots of way to get feedback / give feedback on torrents easily, and the best part is that most of it has been by IH for the users, by the users request.
I just don't get anyone who can be as ignorant and unthankful as to say "amgz pop up adz, i h8 diz siet nou. gtfo!", but that's just me. Do whatever you have to do to keep IH afloat
Also, this was detected by AVG.
#01"Accessed File is infected"
#02"Process Name: D:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe"
#03"Process ID: 3884"
#04"File name: songslisten.com/?advrtsid=adid0115"
#05"Threat name: Exploit MDAC ActiveX code execution (type 290)"
Lines 1-3 are useless but I thought I'd include them anyhow. |
