clearly an old thread.... but it helps me.
searching FAQ and alike gave me no help.
i want to provide feedback on torrents, but its very time consuming with the anti-spam recapture thingy (i know it has to be there) that i often have to refresh several times in an attempt to work out what the images says.
so i need reps to do away with the recapture, great np. oh wait, its gonna take ages... no-one is rep'in.
i'm make sure i try and rep as much as i can, maybe others will rep me if i rep them.
oh wait, i can't, i dont got votes. how i get votes?
and finally i searched forum ''how i get votes'' and this recently surfaced old thread was at top.
To sum up my annoyance:
Is all this made really clear? Have I missed really obvious FAQ section, coz I did look.
And can't I be part of the community by just posting useful feedback on the torrents? Do I have to come to the forum 1st, in order to help with feedback?
Cheers in advance! |

Yes and Yes

As of now all users with a reputation equal to or lower than 10 will be required to fill out a reCAPTCHA once you have a reputation of 11 or more it will only show up if you want to post a link.
If you use noscript you have to allow the reCAPTCHA script or you will not see it and get an error when posting a comment.
Sorry for any inconvenience but this is necessary to combat spam.
Regular comment posters that have low rep can post here and me or a Mod will fix it for you. |

Comments on torrents are indeed very helpful but, not everybody downloads so they will not read those comments. The forums are where your comments will increase your rep' ...........
Your rep' has already flourished so the recaptcha problem should now be resolved, keep commenting on torrents though - make sure to praise mine ! |

value has little to do with it.rep is earned here mostly in the forums and since most don't take the time to visit the forums they don't know how things work.there have been other posts like this one in the past, this one just spells it out in the first three posts pretty plainly.
the captcha is an anti-spam measure and is of great help in stopping the spammers from trashing the comments section with 100 comments and then moving onto another user name and continuing, now they are usually stopped after a few.so it's more work for them and they need to create lots more accounts to spam like the old days.and yes it is explained here in a sticky that people need rep to avoid the captcha and they will usually be given it when they post in that thread.

trollster,
ty. I did see that sticky before. I did not see it explained clearly that in order to get rep u must be rep'd in forum. So if im a simple torrent user, not a forum user, and giving back to community via torrent comments, i would search forum for answer. That sticky tells me I need to get rep to avoid recaptcha, it does not tell me that i need to be active in forum, to get rep, which then alows me to rep others.
rob,
ty. I'm assuming a mod rep'd me. Thanks! but the point im maiking is above oh and gj on 5-2 *grumble&mumble* |
