Futurama or Simpsons??

Ive always wandered which do people prefer Futurama or Simpsons... well u tell me Razz

Same creator, similar style of comedy.
Now add Family Guy to the fray and you got yourself a battle!

Exactly what i was thinking!!
I like Futurama ...it seems like an evolved simpsons where almost every episode is good while it lasted. Family guy is more random, silly humor. Between Futurama and Family Guy, I can't decide!

I love the simpsons but when it comes to straight edge humor i would have to go with Family guy Laughing

Agreed, love both Simpsons and Futurama, but Family Guy takes the cake.

futurama

the simpsons have gotten old and repetative since season 10... of course, futurama would of gotten the same way if it ran long enough

as soon as a show becomes established and popular, that's the kiss of death as far as experimenting on any new themes is concerned... because you can't please everyone, and a new idea might only be liked by half of your fans (with the other half crying and complaining)... so therefore you get the same old already-tested gags

the simpsons is possibly the greatest program EVER, and futurama is quality, but youve all missed for outright funniness south park is the finest show on earth Laughing

the simpsons is fixed and limited in its scope compared to futurama. here, obviously futurama is better (and has proven so) in jokes and far more potential for better storylines.
what makes the simpsons funny is just going around 1 theme, of a dysfunctional family, and thats it. pure and simple.. sum cameos.. but the jokes just basically gets recycled - which makes it unfunny over time.
with futurama though, totally has the scope to get funnier and can produce limitless amounts of pure funny bits.
and yes.. family is pure genius. absolute pure genius.

but time isnt what kills comedy television shows though as Seinfeld has shown us - but also credits its entire cast being fully successful and established comedians with larry david and even the real kenny kramer.

i guess good writers matter most. but for christ's sake, the simpsons really need the plug - its the X-Files in animated comedy.

I think its the diversity of Futurama coupled with a short life span(they should do odd anniversary shows) is why it makes it a hit, even though you may have seen the episode over and over, there will allways be somin that makes you laugh , i think the poll should be? What show you prefere to watch back to back for 30 hrs?
