Playing with lighting (glare)
From none to most.
Also worked on the reflection, in the last 2 |

I prefer No.1
The text (specifically the red stuff) is a lot more pronounced, more readable when vivid - the sheen on the other two kinda take this away. |

I think I agree. The glare does fade the text. |

Just a thought - but with it being 120x120 limit - did you think about doing a CD cover instead of a DVD?
You might be able to make it bigger, more readable (not that it isn't now!) |

Sing, yeah you don't want that.
I really like the DVD/Game case look more than the CD's. |

No worries A_D, I just thought a square image might be easier to showcase, but if your loving the DVD look - so be it dude

Now just to learn how to make the reflection shine like a glass surface. |

Well, with the space you have, it'll be hard.
Basically, to make it look like a glass reflection, all you need to do is create a gradient blend on a mask on the layer with the reflection, so it tails off.
Colour should be white to transparent.
I assume fireworks has layers just like Photoshop? |

Yes it does there are 50 + layers on it now,
I can't seem to get fireworks to do a color to transparent gradient, Color to color is easy.
but that's kinda what I did using the eraser set to a huge size and using the biggest edge setting (Not a very good job though) on a copy of the reflection painted white. I worked on it again and think it might be a little better.
Here are the samples:
