I turn on the TV and constantly think to myself, 'ok, what does so and so program want me to think like now?'
I actually cant sit down and watch programs without becoming overly sensitive to what propaganda they may be insisting on my mind.
There like little propaganda machines that keep the population in check thinking the way people want them to think.
I mean, the innocent ' know you can trust ' shows like , urm, deal or no deal, and simpsons are fine and that. But when it comes to the news, ads, documentaries on mysteries, controversial issues, anything involving the minds of men, politics, movies and all the other stuff I cant see through clearly, I just cant watch.
maybe im jus going completely insane
maybe i jus love to go against the flow
Yeah, thats pretty much been the nature of my existence so far. Overly paranoid about some 'higher power' making me think this way and that. I think thats just where I feel most comfortable. Someone to blame and all that. Think I'd do better going with the flow? Nah ... lol, born to go against it, no changing that. I'd feel empty going with it.
Back to topic - Are TV's evil?, would you be a more genuine person not having one?
Not to mention its completely mindless - it has to be for everyone to understand it and get good ratings and all that. Those who watch it excessively must become mindless I guess. I dunno...

the probleme is not TV but it's some programms wich tries for crual reasons to give us a bad idea of other civilisations...
Because of this programms, muslims hate homosexuals, jews hate muslims, nazists hate jews, communists hate nazists...it's sad that tachnology can be used to teach us hate!!!!!!!!! And we can't blame the watchers. |

I dont know bout how much it is making less genuine(this big mac sure is good). But i do know one thing the current affairs shows in Australia arent doing much. Wheather its the biggest exclusive that Fast Food is fat (i know i was shocked too) or wheather something happened recently on a show on the same network. I think current affairs shows are crap in Aus 60 mins is ok i guess. Sorry bit of tangent. But i hate it.
If you want to know if it makes you less genuine ask disconnected hes doesnt have a tv. |

Actually , The Simpsons slips in a lot more Ethics and Politcs than people realise, and presents itself as a "know you can trust" program to you all , from little children to adults. It is anotehr show that is extremely infuentual and the fore powerful in the fights for out minds, if you think the simpsons is propaganda free and doesnt "guide" all these people into certian ways of thoughts and behavours then your deluding urself. |

The simpsons by no way changes my method of thinking. Sure it touches on a lot of ethics and that, but the majority of the time it is mocking these things. Its not like I take it seriously... Matt Groening is certainly not the type of chappo who creates a brilliant entertaining comedy so people agree with him. I think your deluding yourself |

Well for one Matt Groening doesnt write the story, draw all the animations and edit every single episode, there is a whole bunch of people doing it, and you talk like you know him... like hes your "safe uncle sam" |

There really should be some quality TV on.. like vibrating sheep. Imagine the possibilities you could make with a perfected TV show like that. |

personally the only things i ever watch on my tv are:
-national geographic channel
-college football
-movies i pirate
-discovery channel
-the learning channel
mainly though i stick to the national geographic channel and college football... most other stuff on the tele is rubbish... some series i watched:
-the office (uk version)
-wonder showzen
-the boondocks
-south park
however i just download the episodes lol... i rarely ever watch the news as i usually have to pick through about 20 pieces of bullshit just to get some nugget of truth... i get my news from other sources online... |
