I'm just curious really how many people here do a good amount of raiding and I'm wondering how far others have gotten in the endgame raids. I haven't done anything pre wrath and I've only done the smaller stuff pre TBC I've gone through only half of Uld, all of Naxx all of TOC 10 and 25 and only through first wing of ICC on 10 man.

Only did the 5 man raids (thanks to the Dungeon Finder) and a few parts of Naxx on 10.

Well, Molten Core doesn't really count seeing as my Paladin is level 80 Smile

I like to play when I can but I'm sort of bored with it. I wish I could just find groups to do things but raids are hard to get into it sucks :S

Stopped playing when they made exp in BG's. ICC patch. After acquiring close to 10k achieve points on my main. Having had 3x80s 7x70s and a legion of geared toons. My 60 paladin with as many socketed items head chest feet belt x2rings from the pvp tokens in hellfire all with sockets TBC gear with Wotlk epic gems and the highest level enchants on all this gear. Being a blacksmith with plans to the sulfuron hammer and most of mats save the eye. Now could only play 13 AV's before leveling. I stopped 2 bars from level 61 and didn't see the point of obtaining the hammer or really continuing WoW. I might come back they say Cata is good waiting for a few patches first.

Stop speaking in strange tongues ... We normal people don't understand Laughing

I played Runes of Magic for two month.
Had to stop, to time consuming.
2-3 hours each night and 5 - 6 at the weekends, that's up to 30 hours a week.
More then some work in a week Shocked

Gameplay, plot and community was great.
The GM and the powers behind the throne suKKed big time.
(Was one of the reason I left too)

Now I play Champions Online f2p. Superhero MMORPG.
Just do a quest or two and off you go back to reality.
No harm done Wink

Hehe an explanation for you PA3,
WoW to me was the best game on the PC, and still is in some respects.
As shooters are best left to the consoles

After achieving practically everything there was to do in WoW on my main character. At the time of ICC, WotLK. I would make another character or characters for the intrest of pawning players in Battlegrounds = BG's. They changed the game rules at this time. These BG's now provided experience which meant your character is forced to level by entering them. You can turn this game off, however you won't be able to get into a BG as none are available with this experience gain turned off. The old system was your player wouldn't gain experience from BG's, and only from killing monsters or raiding dungeons of similiar or higher level.

Anyhow I made this paladin specifically for being the best of the best in Alterac Valley a BG with 40 enemy and 40 allied players in. The only thing that would make him that much more unstoppable was the Sulfron Hand of Ragnoros, a legendary hammer weapon. The only material I needed for this was the Eye. This is obtained by running a raid instance called Moltencore serval times and killing the last boss Ragnoros. Instead I had an epic weapon. The gear and enchants and epic gems I used were so good. That an example was in the AV's I played in one move from a divine storm, a paladin attack move. It would kill 20 players, sometimes more.

The game changed so much in ICC also I was becoming bored.

The BBC did a panorama episode on WoW and computer games and their addictive dangers, the reason they appeal so much is from the rewards being given, this is appealing to players. I can totally relate to this I spent so much time playing the game it was finally good to get away from it. I might come back to it I still got my corehound code kicking about somewhere.

a lot of crazy talk I still don't get Wink

ICC? WotlK, maybe Wrath of the Leech King? Those are add-on's for WOW I guess?
Sorry, no pun intended, but us normal people don't get the 1337 talk ...
Really ... some years ago, I went into a cybercafe.
I saw a bunch of grown ups (6 guys in their 20s) playing DAoC ... (Dark Age of Camelot) ...
I saw the fun they had, went over to watch them play and listen to their tactics call over VoIP ...
I UNDERSTOOD ABSO-FRAKKIN'-LUTLEY-NOTHING!!!
Quote: " ink ink hibis hibis puff me lose akro " .... Help! Clue Hammer Owned! Shocked

After 2 weeks I dared to ask what language they spoke during the game, 'coz I thought they are doing some kind of roleplaying via VoIP?!

A nice guy explained "the basics" ...
ink = Inc(oming) of an enemy group
hibis = People from HYBernia (enemy fraction/country)
puff me = Buff me (telling the priest/mage/supporter to "magically" enhance the powers of the asking team member)
lose akro = Player is loosing aggro (the enemy/monster has to have AGGRO/aggression on that (strong/protected) Player or it will attack the weaker team members (spellcasters etc.)

I was glad that they weren't sick or Lala-Land-Loonies or other kind of strange .. it was just their "code" ...
Like I said ... strange tongues for "outsiders" ... true story!

World of Warcraft heading though mates Smile

Yes the language and abreviations and terminology used in these games, is funny to the least. Almost needing its own dictionary to understand.

With PC games, Mmorpgs, are best on the PC aswell as Sims, and Strategy based games. Unlike the consoles where platforms, shooters, sports, beatem ups and others are far superior.

World of Warcraft is possible the best game on the PC for anyone of a number of reasons. Also proably is the most addictive game of all time if you find yourself playing this kind of game. It is good to get away from the amount of time you are drawn into when playing this type of game. Even a raid instance can consume 6 hours or more of your playing time. The friends you make and the microphone used to comunicate to them in raids, fun, pvp ,etc makes it very fun to play.

The funniest example of stupid mmorpg langauge is the word (twink) which in mmorpg language means a geared low-level-player. No doubt if you actually googled the term you would find a much darker description and might even have to have an adult blocker on. Sick world Laughing

I started during beta with and old human male warlock.

I ended up with 3 accounts with atleast one of each class at lvl 60, 70 and 80, which raided everything in every expansion. I gave up when Cata came and played at private servers some, but I noticed that I couldn't live withput the dungeon finder tool...

Who da frakk has 6hours to spare? That's a frakkin' working day!
AND your online team mates are buddies NOT friends!
Friends are real (world) unless you have a very low standard of explaining friends ... jm2p
