Graphicaly, the PS3... The Blue-Ray in it alone makes it worth while.
the inovation of the WII's controls on the other hand make it the winner for me |

I have all the next gen machines and they all have there pros and cons. Considering my age (40), I find myself spending most of my time on the PS3, the Wii mostly for the kids, And my 360 has been collecting dust lately |

Meh, who needs consoles when you have PC? |
Exactly, but sadly this is a console war, of which I'd vote on the PS3. Though I love both the 360 and PS3, the PS3 remains by far superior to any console, hell I even installed Ubuntu on it, I was like OMFGWTFBBQSAUS when I did that!
I voted PS3.
(PC is still the most superior gaming system in my heart, and in my opinion.) |

ps3 wins in raw power, but xbox-360 still has more customers and more games. the latest games on 360 push it to the max and cannot get any better, but they still have barely pushed the potential of the ps3. the ps3 will compete with microsoft's next console. |

The funny thing about this is that this poll is 3 years old and still no conclusive decision. I thing the Wii has got the market cornered as a family console which is what Nintendo always has been. Sony and Microsoft are the only 2 competing with the graphics and intricate gameplay market. I like the 360 but thats just me. They both have their pros and cons.
Nintendo has simple graphics and gameplay is basic. I can bowl with my 5 year old and still have fun and my 6 year old knocks my ass out in boxing because she swings her arms like Crash Bandicoot on Meth. We have alot of family fun which is Nintendos niche. |

i used to beat my 6yo son at wii boxing, but not anymore
yeah nintendo has always been innovative going after untapped markets
NES-family entertainment during an era only expensive(hardcore audience systems) were being beefed up
SNES, N64, GC, gameboy, ...
now with their focus new audience being non-traditional gamers and still the wii has virtual compatibility for older cartridge games and connections for gamecube controllers along with ability to play
yeah wii(nintendo) gets my vote |

The funny thing is that even my parents (never played any console) bought a wii last year. My Dad wont let me mod it because he says its stealing. So when we all get together like this Thanksgiving my kids will be able to fight their Grandma and Grandpa. Genius marketing too. |

They are marketed to different audiences. I was impressed with the wii at first but once I got over the motion control it just became an underpowered console IMO. But it is perfect for casual gamers as its cheap and the games are generally suited for that audience.
PS3 is great as a media center and the Blu Ray is definately worth the fee. Also free online is a step in the right direction.
Its starting to get some good exclusive games as well. I am slightly disappointed though as it wasnt the all powerfull, Nintendo/Microsoft destroying console that Sony claimed it to be. They are also losing more exclusives than what they are gaining and the online seems a bit unstable.
Xbox 360 is great for exclusives and online play. The LIVE service also offers a lot of choice. My only issue with the 360 is that the console is prone to breaking down. Given the advertising on LIVE I also think the subscription fee should be scrapped. But overall Im in it for the games and 360 has a better games library than PS3. I would also say the Wii but its not a fair comparison as the Wii is marketed as a toy. |

Yea, really all being said I feel there is room for all 3 in the market. I just feel Sony and Microsoft had very high expectations and neither one of them is so superb as to put the other out of business. |

Very true. 360 and PS3 have pretty much the same catalogue.
The grass is green on both sides.
It certainly wasnt like the old Nintendo and Sega rivalry!!
(I had a Nintendo and wanted a Sega, and all my Sega owning friends wanted a Nintendo) |
