Osama Bin Laden was a CIA agent???

Fidel Castro is now claiming that Osama Bin Laden is an agent for the CIA!
Here is a story for all of you conspiracy theorists...

Mr Castro made the comments in a chat with Lithuanian writer Daniel Estulin, who is well known for advancing conspiracy theories.

I would have voted yes (as I'm about sure that Bin-Laden indeed worked for the US government), except for the bit where it says that Castro would never lie...

And as far as repute goes, the BBC made a short documentary a while back, where-in they state that Al-Qaeda doesn't exist. Which isn't far from the truth either...

I think the proper tense would be "was"... not "is"... If he was an agent, I doubt he still "is."

He was there during the Russian occupation, so it's fair to say that at some point he probably had dealings with the Americans that were training people to fight the (then) Communist Enemy.

I also say "was" because I still believe that he's been dead for some time now. The fact that we haven't been told he's dead is because that would effectively end "the War of Terror"

And I agree with Jimmy... remove the 'cause Castro would never lie' from the poll option. It taints your question and leads me to believe you don't actualy want people to click "yes." It shows your biase and one should never from polls in a biased way...

You make a good point about Bin Laden's involvement with the CIA during the Russian war. I think that it is possible. I don't think that it was the case after that.
I also think that Bin Laden is probably dead and I hope that is the case. He was said to suffer from kidney diasese and Addison's disease.

As for the poll-- I was just trying to be funny and not attempting to make it biased. I will try to change it if I can.

I know, but the written word can come across differently then we hear them as we are writing. It drops the intonation and inflection we add to it in our mind. You can make that sound funny when you "say" it, and I'm sure it came across to you as funny when you were writing it but once it's in writing it's the reader that adds the inflection and intonation to it. Smile

My bin is laden with empty take away boxes but I also reckon THE Bin Laden is a goner, as apposed to Castro who is a Gooner. Worked for the CIA ? Course he did.

It is a known fact that Bin-Laden received an 'education' in guerrilla warfare from CIA agents in the seventies.

The fact that an organization like the US government 'cannot find' its public enemy number one, reeks of some kind of scheme. Look how fast they found Saddam Hussein... but Bin-Laden? Sorry, can't find the git. Although he has been reported to see American Doctors in a hospital in Pakistan. Several times...
