- You can use boolean operators (-, |, OR), wildcards (*, ?), and phrase search (") in your query
- For BitTorrent: Paste in a 40 characters info_hash, to search for that particular torrent and get all trackers for it

Just when you think there's nothing new on isoHunt.com, I give you one large update.
First of all, you'd see a new Web search tab at the top to search the entire WWW alongside our existing P2P search interfaces. I personally think it's at the very least competitive with the big search engines, Google et al. which are increasingly flooded with spam. Check it out.
Our P2P search interfaces currently includes only the BitTorrent protocol, but work is underway to provide search engines for at least 2 more networks. Who guesses these gets a... pat on the head. Yes, the much anticipated comments and ratings are also being worked on. Be patient
You should also notice that there's been changes in the site layout. The search interface in particular has been integrated and streamlined across the BitTorrent and Releases interfaces, along with various usability improvements. We do welcome your feedback on how you like us to improve this further.
And, more speed, this time without any hardware upgrade. Big props to the Linux kernel and driver developers, we are seeing about 4 times reduction in load across our cluster from just a minor version kernel upgrade. 2.6.17 is one heck of a speed demon, contrary to something like Windows that keeps getting slower. Hats off!
As an aside, Linux is being actively distributed using BitTorrent and is widely available on searches here. If you are interested in a try on your desktop, try these:
Ubuntu
and
Suse
Linux. With eyecandies that rivals Vista which is still not out yet.
One last thing: ads. You will now see a lot more text ads that should be very much relevant to your searches. In an effort to bring you ads that's actually helpful rather than annoy, I hope you appreciate this. This is another step from popups we've dropped due to malware problems, which we have 0 tolerance for. Enjoy |
