I just let Windows update download and install it (as usual), did think about doing it manually but after re imaging i lost the enthusiasm for it.
Thanks will try it out again but for now im happy cause its working but curiosity will eventually get the better of me. |

well, lets see.....
People that have issues with win7 sp1 are the ones that have hacked versions. the issue is not service pack one its the hacked items in your hacked version that makes windows unstable. the new update has to do with memory optimization and how applications run.
Question is are people going to get legit or get better at cracking the software? then get cracking. if you use hacked software you should learn to read and write your own code. add to the knowledge, dont just use it and complain. do something besides exist.
There has to be a balance. I totally understand when win 7 came out it was 350.00 USD and people hacked it because of the price. but now what their problem?? the price for me is 68.00 USD for win7 Professional (x32/x64)per-copy. and for the rest of the people its 139.00 USD. |

Not all windows configs are the same so, you will get some that just won't comply with the standards.
There were some fixes to be had (like the link I posted) that are valid ones even though the OS is legit.
ShMee, you re-imaged. You might have just re-imaged the same problems. A Custom install is what would have been recommended or try the fix from MS.
I pre-ordered W7 in July 2010 (the upgrade DVDs). Both 32 and 64bit on separate discs, were in the package. I did the upgrade but, I chose the custom install instead of the upgrade. Formatted and installed on my HP dv9834ca and never looked back. It has been working perfectly fine since then. Gave it to Mom as her's was a 15.4 and getting a little small for her eyes.
On the other hand, some of the upgrades went awfully wrong. Not because of the hardware but of certain errors that were already there. Like I said , not all configs. are the same and they don't have to be illegitimate OSes to not comply with updates or upgrades. |

The above link may help, has a "Windows Deployment Toolkit" included, not the putty, gloves and glass I was expecting though. |

Wrong, my windows 7 is 100% legit.
perhaps you should ask before assuming.
