LAtely I've come across many isohunt torrents without any trackers in them, the page of the torrents stating something like n/A (DHT) and when I load the torrent in µtorrent, there are indeed no trackers.
What's u p ???

not noticed it myself, there should always be at least one tracker
but you can always add trackers in utorrent,
there is a list of regularly updated trackers you can use,
just copy & paste them in utorrent & remove any that don't work. Very Happy

DHT P2P or distributed hash table peer to peer systems allow for data file sharing on a large scale and without being controlled by a centralized organization. These networks use nodes or electronic devices attached to networks to send, receive, retrieve and forward information over a channel of communication. The node is the point of connection at which the information can be distributed from peer to peer.

Its not that easy because if the original up loader has not put trackers on the torrent in first place they will not work..

Then again if the up loader edited the torrent added trackers and posted the torrent again on this site or another site that would be a fix..

that's right tazzzz if that's the case then the uploader would probably come here &
make a post to find out why he can't seed his torrent,
if like me I would be keeping a close watch on my torrent to make sure
it is working,
perhaps the uploader has given up the ghost because of the lack of
knowledge/experience on uploading torrents.

I've been downloading torrents from here for ages, and don't remember ever getting one with N/A (DHT) - now 90% of torrents I click on are using it. It's listed at the top of the summary box.

These are not new files either - some 130+ weeks old. Is this some bug with Isohunt where it has stripped all of the trackers by mistake?

I added "http://tracker.torrentbay.to:6969/announce" and it worked. Maybe Isohunt should inject 3/4 popular trackers if it can.

Have you enabled DHT in uTorrent ? Click PREFERENCES, then BITTORENT then ENABLE DHT NETWORK and ENABLE DHT FOR NEW TORRENTS.

I have seen a few torrents only using DHT and no trackers. As robmead said so long as uTorrent is configured to allow DHT you shouldn't have any problems.

Have a read here for more info http://thepiratebay.org/blog/175

I have seen this on some torrents, even old ones,

[DHT] not allowed

[Local Peer Discovery] not allowed

[Peer Exchange] not allowed

all the not allowed stuff sounds like a completely private torrent to me, they dont want to share it with outsiders.

ive had lots of success with N/A DHT torrents, it just may need patience at times until all the pieces you need eventually get on line.
ive had a few very specialized biology texts that were jammed at 90% on an N/A DHT and eventually they came in

ive ha d another interesting experience with TPB stuff.

when downing a multifile torrent, one or some of the files trigger a virus alert. i just keep nuking that copy and eventually you can get a non infected piece from another peer. ive had no problems after doing this and when comparing the infected version from quarantine, to the non infected version you can see the difference in the file attributes, and the file code as well
such as JMP instructions to the file end where there is a PROCedure sitting all by itself (thats the startup for the virus) and it then JMPs back to where it jumped in from and continues the normal program.

near as i remember this has been happening since the power outage where they lost some stuff.it seems to be an indexing error or something.

all you need to do with most of those files is just click some of the links in the or read torrent source page to download and you will connect to the trackers.the files are coming from those sites anyway.

you can also click the ? after the hash in the case of an isohunt release and download that files that way from one or more of the sites shown.

I just checked the torrent again, and it now has 7 trackers listed in there. It definitely said N/A (DHT) about 4/5 hours ago.

if this is a new torrent it can take 1-2 hours for trackers to be indexed/added
to the torrent description tab.

yeah it's some kind of indexing error.i've seen the same thing and like i was saying most times you can still get the file by using the other options.
