How can a Phenom 9850BE @ 3.1 Ghz with 4Gb RAM (3.2 in XP) and dual 4870's score lower than a dual core and a 9600 ??

Intel ?
Nvidia ?

Its a well oiled machine, its like a car, it has the correct gear box hooked up to the correct motor and the power to wieght ratio is perfect.

Add to that ALL synthetic benchmark apps favor Intel and Nvidia, for true performance tests the BM apps in games like Farcry2 are a true test.
But there is nothing my rig can't run so i don't care Smile

I haven't posted benchmarks since my 4400 X2, and I've been bored lately, so here's some for my current system:

AMD Phenom 9950 @ 3Ghz
4GB DDR2 1066 5-5-5-15
ASUS Crosshair II
ATI Radeon 4870x2
2x300GB Vraptors - RAID 0
4x1TB WD 7200RPM - RAID 10

Image

The 4870X2 scores surprisingly low on this one. Maybe my CPU is holding it back? I'm not entirely convinced of that, this is the only bench that leaves me wondering about the GPU result.

Now for my real pride and joy. Storage benchmarks: Twisted Evil
My RAID's are running on 3Ware 9650se PCIE controller cards.

I'll post some vantage results when I get it to work again, it seems to be broken right now for some reason.

Set it on a bench and hit it with a hammer. you will get benchmarks and hammermarks.

Seriously though get some (benchmarking software for a mac(Google that)).

I didn't do any up-loads but I can say I got 31211 3D marks on 3D Mark 2001 . . .

If that's good, I don't know..
I usually watch TV and movies on this PC...

Quite respectable, however the 2001 version is too old to really get a good reading, i know the record score set for 2001 version was about 138,000 ! :O
Try getting the 06 version and run again .
What are your system specs btw ?

Ive just installed windows 7 and ran it again, same set up except last time I had 3 gig of ram (on xp), this time 4 gig. I got a tad less 1123.9 (I got no snagit installed) I wanted to see if windows 7 made any difference to the result. I'm getting a new graphics card tomorrow so I want to see how much a graphics card affects the outcome with the same processor (its only a dual core 3.00 Ghz)

There you go its less 1074.5, why Confused
