metalbuzzbob's thread got me wondering about what would be the ultimate rock CD. If you go to Tescos (or KMART etc.) You will see CD collections with similar names, stuffed with an incredible amount of "filler".
So, how about a IH playlist based on Rock music.
Sure there will be the obvious ones like Stairway/Rhapsody etc. But how about the less obvious. Make as many suggestions as you like, doesnt matter when they are from I guess, but I'm going for the '70's with mine.
But basically songs that just "rock".

Absolutely agree with that, but it will help to have a list here anyway that can be browsed for suggestions, by people wanting to make a compilation CD ....eg. Ace of Spades, I totally forgot that one, I actually bought a TH game, because that was on it. 
Also it can point people towards stuff they never heard, but may like, if they check out the links, eg. Surfin with the Alien, I had heard of it over the years, but never actually heard the track itself, what an amazing guitarist. I never heard of Opeth either so that was a nice find. |

NO REAL ROCK COLLECTION WOULDN'T BE COMPLETE WITHOUT
CARLOS SANTANA NOT JUST A CD EITHER.. IT WOULD HAVE TO BE THE ENTIRE COLLECTION, INCLUDING THE 24 MINUTE LIVE JAMS LIKE WITH STEVIE RAY VAUGHN AND ERIC CLAPTON. OH THERE ARE TWO MORE TO ADD TO THE LIST.
I COMPLETELY AGREE, ROCK IS A BROAD SPECTRUM TO COVER... WOULD NEED TO BREAK IT DOWN IN TIME LINES JUST TO PUT TOGETHER PLAYLISTS.....
