Edited your title for clarity, Call of Duty 3 has been out for long time now. Wink

As for Modern Warfare 3, I honestly couldn't give a flying furry rat's ass. Call of Duty 4 was a great game that has gone downhill ever since. Activision are just hammering it for every penny its worth. CoD is the new Guitar Hero and it will die in the same way; with Activision spamming the market with identical products until the genre is so over saturated that nobody cares anymore.

The games themselves are pure garbage. The graphics are the same as they ever were, they just add more explosions and chases. Look closely and the texturing is atrocious along with the AI that has little sense other than shoot and duck. They are still using regenerating enemies that continue to appear until you cross an invisible line to trigger the next event. That would have been acceptable on PS2 to an extent but on PS3/360/PC its a joke and embarrassment.

Single player is another area that is virtually non-existent. CoD games retail at £55 a pop so as far as I'm concerned its not too much to ask to include a decent one player mode. But it isn't happening. What you get is a tedious 3 hours where you are chasing / been cased and having explosions shoved your face every 10 seconds while you try to figure out WTF is supposed to be happening. Playing MW2 was comparable to getting rushed through customs.

Multi-player is okay. By that I mean good for a few hours before you realize its ridden with glitches and hackers, poor level design, far too many campers and idiot 10 year olds playing Drum n Bass down the headsets. If you do happen to like the multi-player then you can expect to be financially raped to the tune of £12 per map pack and most of them will be from the last game that came out anyway. Oh and if you play on PC you have the added privilege of paying to game on servers while Kotic pisses himself laughing at how many people he is extorting for a substance free and shallow game.

The last nail in the coffin? Call of Duty was once a respected and loved shooter that actually managed to touch people on the horrors of war. All it touches is now is my last nerve when people talk like its the benchmark to live up to.

Thanks mate, I missed MW out of excitement lol.

Its fan-base is tremendous, don't think its deterioration date would be closer than it's supposed to be because of its globalized fandom, mostly I've seen that in my country! The more elements they are add the more fanbase increases its territory. When I went to buy the Black Ops (sucked) the day it came to my city, it sold within few hours and they continued to sell with that level of intensity for a month at least. Point is; it can repel gamers with cliches and deja vu with a little bit of additions but it can't fail the generic COD fans. This planet has got enough of 'em lol

I agree there with you about graphics, since frostbite 2.0 is sharpening the battlefield 3, COD doesn't stand a chance in that graphics level. Not even a bit. Maybe they will work on it and on the 3D. However, It'll be a disaster for COD if both of the rivals release at the same month! On a graphical level, I guess it'll end up like Crysis 2 (Which is not "that" bad).

Single player mode is shortening, that's disappointing though. But honestly, the dialogues, the different modes of operation levels, air strikes/supports, strong plot (not black ops lol) are always a treat.

It's the "new stuffs" in "call of duty way" is the main attraction, gameplay hours, graphics aside. It's always a suspenseful venture for me since the vintage classic call of duty. Wink And I can't wait to buy it so as million billion others.

I've laughed a lot.. I mean a lot..
Destruction lol Laughing
Scripted ones.. , Are they trying to compete with BF3's engine by maximizing the current engine?
Reveal Trailer is gameplay trailer all I can see is I've seen this graphics before.. and the same animations..
What a few new animations? , a world wide war to bring more people? , submarines?
New things to the multiplayer that will fans excited about it?
Some might say that graphics isn't everything but in this current generation and the next one.. graphics and the story is everything

All they want is to bring some money.. and some say that the devs are making a new engine.. well they didn't take the enough time for a new engine so they are still using the same engine but f**kin the hell out of it to bring something new..
I'm sick of CoD..

^^I guess they are trying to compete with Crysis 2's engine. BC2 lacked plot in its story mode, COD MW2 took advantage of it; now it doesn't seem like there'll be any competition in future between B3 and MW3 whatsoever.
DICE indeed took/is taking almost 2 years to develop its new 2.0 frostbite and enhancing the graphics and object sharpness and vividness whereas infinite ward's wasted potential black ops took consumed the developing span in the mean time...

However "Destruction" is funny..

Fury. That's the adjective UK newspaper The Daily Mail has used to describe the reaction to yesterday's new Modern Warfare 3 video.
"An ultra-violent computer game which features explosions and scenes of destruction on the London Tube and at the Houses of Parliament is to be released later this year," the paper states.
"Supporters of those affected by the 7/7 suicide attacks in July 2005, which killed 52 people, called for Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 to be banned."
One section of the trailer depicts a terrorist attack on London. We see a shootout occurring outside the Houses of Parliament and a race with a Tube train in the London underground.
New York, Paris and Berlin are also pictured in various states of conflict.
"I have concerns as these games are hyper-real and take place in a landscape we are familiar with," a spokesperson for campaign group Mediawatch stated. "In light of the fact we have just had the 7/7 inquests, it is in incredibly poor taste."

As soon as I saw that article I thought "That sounds like The Daily Mail.." a little into the first sentence and low and behold, suspicions confirmed! I hate Call of Duty (not sure if I was too subtle already) but that paper needs to pull the stick out of their arses. Rolling Eyes

There was controversy on MW2 (Airport scene, but if you was offended by the graphic shootout @ least you got the option to not play that scene) & even Resistance fall of man got a slating for the shootouts in the church of england Laughing Laughing......I hate the daily mail Twisted Evil

Cant wait for MW3 & even though my faith in it being a longer single player mission & graphicly better (Fingers crossed) We'll just have to wait & see, as Black ops was a pile of toss!!!!!

Modern Warfare 3 to be censored or banned in UK?

Activision and Infinity Ward's much awaited and highly anticipated game "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3" to be Bannded in United Kingdom?.

The Modern Warfare 3 trailer released on May 23 includes a scene which shows train derailing and exploding in one of London’s underground tunnels. Now in response to the scene The Daily Mail reported that many UK Citizens affected by 7/7 bombing in 2003 found the teaser distasteful.

Vivienne Pattison, spokesman for campaign group Mediawatch UK, said:

‘I have concerns as these games are hyper-real and take place in a landscape we are familiar with. In light of the fact we have just had the 7/7 inquests, it is in incredibly poor taste.’

In response to the concerned raised by Vivienne Pattison Activision released the following statement (via website Spong):

“Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is a fictional action game aimed at mature adults and set in World War Three. The scenes in the game are entirely fictional and are not intended to recreate any historical events.”

Seems like they'll get enough time to build a new engine now lol.

"Hyper-Real" Laughing

And whatever they add to multiplayer I will still hate to play it again just to get into it and get killed every 5 6 seconds
The only mode that might keep you alive for a while is search and destroy with a good players
You get into a match wait 2 3 seconds for it to start and boom grenades party will start
All of the players will throw the grenades..

Looking forward to it! As for the criticism for graphics, I think games are supposed to more than just eye-candy. It's entertainment, virtual violence, emotional hiding space/outlet.....hell, if they had games like this in the 70s, 80s, 90s, maybe Bundy, Gacy, Dahmer wouldn't have made themselves so infamous! LOL

Other elements/Many other reasons" aside,I like cod because of the emotional connections between the characters and ultimately with yourself, I guess most feel the same.

Modern Warfare 3 Spec Ops Getting Overhauled

Spec Ops is getting some upgrades in MW3, including its own progressive ranking system, online matchmaking system and leaderboards. There's also a new Survival Mode that plays out on multiplayer maps. Here's a snip:
"All that stuff really fleshes out Spec Ops and adds in a lot that we know our fans are going to love, some of the most addictive aspects of Multiplayer," says Infinity Ward creative strategist Robert Bowling.
I teamed up with Infinity Ward executive producer Mark Rubin for a couple tries at Spec Ops' new Survival mode on a map currently called Dome, a derelict Cold War-era desert radar command bunker.

As we dispatched ever-increasing waves of enemies, I discarded my pistol for a shotgun. Rubin passed me some in-game currency and I bought and installed a turret to keep the evildoers at bay, while I watched for attack dogs.

After a few waves, the attack dogs became suicide bomber dogs that exploded a few seconds after you shot them. The next wave brought the kamikaze soldiers who exploded similarly.

"You definitely have to change up your strategy as the enemy changes up," Bowling said afterward. "Obviously how you fight the kamakazi dudes is different from how you fight the normal dudes and how you fight a dog is different from a dude and how you fight juggernauts, they are not only big and armored, so they will just brute force come at you. But they each have their own way of being taken out effectively."

Next up is zombie dogs from outer space lol
