The Ministry of Defence has said the survey vessel was conducting trials using high definition sonar for sea bed mapping trials off Falmouth at the time of the dolphin stranding.

However a spokesman said it was "extremely unlikely" to have affected the dolphins.

A downright pathetic denial by the MOD... eventually conclusive proof of all this stress and grief will put an end to these activities, but how many more dolphins will die first?

Beached whales killed by Man's abundant stupidity - Though the debate is by no means raging, as dolphins, whales and seals harmed by our military and oil exploration activities continue to die, because of us, but here is a tonne of evidence about what has been going on for far too long. - have your say

Ignoring the plight of dolphins and whales for over 5 years - We have been aware of the damage we can do to marine mammals since at least 2002, but we are more interested in sucking every bit of energy out of the planet and arming ourselves to the teeth tha we are with looking after the world which keeps us alive.

This is becoming a worse and worse problem, but the power that be are currently interested in ignoring it. They know the truth but they'd rather save money by waiting until they really are forced by activists and courts to take animal life seriously.

...So long and thanks for all the fish? (Sorry mods if that was considered spam and that's why it was deleted)

But seriously. There is sufficient evidence I think to say that something is going on, I'm not entirely swayed that this means it's MOD's fault. There are countless other reasons for sealife to die off. Chernobyl... all the waste dumping into the Mediterranean... oil spills...

However, sonar probably does interfere with certain species down there, especially the ones who use similar forms of sonar and sounds for communication.

Didn't read the articles yet, been busy, but it is a high-interest topic and I'll read it after work and re-respond.

Well, this might make you feel guilty even more:

Being able to see these wonderful giant creatures in real life is and should be an honor for the human race. Though it's becoming very rare these days to encounter one, since they are again being highly chased by the Chinese "fishermen" again (aka for science...... ???).

I'd rather pay taxes to help/save these wonderful giants, and grand the honor for our kids to see those creatures still alive, than having to pay taxes for all the illegal immigrants that are jailed in what I call our "4 star rated hotels", and to release them after a few months again so that they can do the same crime(s) over and over again (and to get jailed again into the 4**** hotel, over and over again).

Just my opinion, but coming from my heart.

Cheers.

We use sonar to take pictures of human fetuses in the womb so stop crying it's killing off the dolphins. I would think yes possibly dolphins may not like it or even go as far as to say it may frighten them. But to stop this type of under water exploration because of that is absurd. The less we depend on the middle east for oil, the better off we all will be. There is always consequences to getting oil from the earth whether by land or sea.

If a dog is chasing along side your auto and runs head on into a tree and dies he's just considered a dumb dog.

But if a dolpin should happen to run ashore oh have mercy call green peace! LOL
