hey guys, I've fluffed up something on my win7 computer, Rolling Eyes
haven't got a clue what I did to make it go wrong but it no longer
plays movie data that I have burned off using the same drive to burn them
off....... good job I have a second DVD drive that plays them just fine, Rolling Eyes

it doesn't even recognize the discs as DVD but when I put a movie data
disc in that was burned off before it went wrong, it still recognizes them &
still plays them just fine,
also it still works fine when burning disks off...... I'm confused,

how can it recognize one disc & not the other when both discs were burned off using the same drive ? Confused
have tried updating the drivers but that didn't work. Sad

Same thing happened to me before with a web cam.

Try a system restore. Worked for me.

Are all your discs the same brand ? My drive went through a stage of not recognising Verbatim discs.

tried doing system restore & all my discs are the same brand, not verbatim
but can't remember the brand, they are +- discs though,
I'm at a complete loss for ideas. Sad

edit: just a thought, I might be able to find something on it if I google it.

Try uninstalling the drive through Device Manager, then reboot.

not yet but I know it's one of those problems that can be put right again,
just a matter of finding the right program or info.

not sure yet but I think I may have found the answer here rob.

I was hoping you would comment,
aha.... that's the same advice I found on the first site I visited cbill but
was unsure whether to take the risk not being that savvy but if you
recommend it I know I won't go far wrong. Wink
