Hi folks,
Currently I encounter problems while downloading a torrent as big as 112GB. At 91% the file stopped downloading.
The logfile stated that there are hash errors.
The content of the torrent is rarred for the most part and when I try to open a corrupted rar file an error stating "header of file "???" cannot be repaired" appears.
My questions here:
How can I repair the corrupted .rar files in the torrent?
Or how to repair the complete torrent?
When uncompressed a .rar file, how do I repair a .iso file?
The name of the corrupt torrent file:
CBT_TRAINING_MASSIVE_Full_Series_-_CBT_Nuggets_Train_Signal.torrent downloaded from BTmon |

Hi keyzz,
The torrent contain for 99% rar files, but as it seems 5 of these rarred files are incomplete or corrupt. If it would be another type of rar file, Winrar or 7-Zip would give me something like: The file type is not supported.
Interesting is though that only the very large rar files are corrupted or damaged. Just to give you a few examples ... Files that stopped loading: AppDev.rar, 17.7GB: 84.2%, and only 1 file (iso of 380MB) can be extracted from this rar file and even that piece is damaged. LinuxCBT.rar, 10.5GB: 87.8%, Other.rar, 4.43GB: 96.7%, Trainsignal.rar, 26.4GB: 86% and TestOut.rar, 14GB: 91.5%, whereby the overall status of the torrent file is 91.8% completeness. All other files are below 1GB of data. I do not know if the overall file size of 112GB would be the cause of these corruptions or the large content. Deleting the corrupted files however was not the sollution as the corrupted file stopped loading at exact the same spot more or less.
So in the end more than 10GB of data is still missing. Looking into the torrent file shows a list of content, so if there is no way out of this, then I have to download all seperate files which is 73,03GB in total. |

Thanks for your reply, I noticed that currently this torrent is bad, but it was not at that time a few weeks ago. So as with this incomplete torrent, I have to go into each separate part to download. Is that what you suggest? |

I use uTorrent and what I would do is stop the torrent, delete the corrupted rar files in the download directory, force a rescan, and restart the file. UTorrent will automatically redownload the deleted files.
If the fresh download is corrupt you are out of luck. |

i would say if its a split rar archive then it would have been posted directly from newsgroups without being repaired using the PAR files, meaning the file is useless without them.

For resolving out given problem one of the best way is
rar fixer
. It can restore corrupted rar archives from any devices, tool doesn't modify archive info after repairing, it works with big rar files. |
