Plasma is best for sport.
LCD is best for games.
Plasma also have a tendancy to burn logo's onto the screen if they are left on for too long.
OLED tv's are looking pretty impressive...

I'd say read the reviews especially the ones coming from the experts. That's what I did when I bought my 32" samsung LCD TV months ago. It's a sure thing to get the best bang for the buck in my opinion. And checking the
LCD TV ratings
was such of great help too. |

I voted plasma but have had no problems with my LCD TV's either. I think the main thing I like about my Plasma besides the picture being clear is the viewing angles are better than many LCD TV's.
My Plasma has a very quick screen saver so that when it senses that a screen that is not active like a computer wallpaper or a DVD Player intro screen, it quickly switches to standby. It was a pain in the ass at first, but after a while you realize that if it won't come out of saver mode, there is an issue with the device...not the TV. Idiot proof another words. |

the short and sweet of the matter. Anything 42" or lower LCD is thre best. The moment you go 52" and bigger plasma still leads the way by a long shot. anything in between 42" and 52" is a matter of individual choice and taste. one of the best ways to view is with animated film as the jaggies are so much easier to identify.
bedroom I have LCD 42" small footprint easy to hang on the wall less heat sharp picture.
Living room plasma (same price) but 52" much faster refresh rates less jaggies better overall quality of picture at this size (LCD improving rapidly so this is mute point 1 year from now). Disadvantage is heat. However great radiator for winter time |

| LCD's are shit coz of their poor refesh rate, like if ur watching sports, or any fast moving images for that matter, the image becomes hazy... id take plasma over lcd any day. Have u seen the new gen Pioneer Plasmas they're awesome!! By the way rather than choosing lcd or plasma, just wait a lil longer, a little birdie told me they're bringing out this new technology involving lasers for tv's & it will shit all over plasma and lcd. no joke. so wen that cums out im gettin that!!! |
1 milisecond and lower is shit? |
I got 24 and 37" LCD screens, and the screen does flicker when you watch high resolution/720p/1080p content like sport. I'm not going to spend the extra $$ on a plasma though, for most purposes LCD is better.
Overall plasma probably provides a better viewing experience for all types of media, I just can't shell out $800+ more than for an equivalent LCD screen of the same size. |

technology is moving at a very fast pace. whatever we buy today is improved upon within a short time span.
with pricing it is also true. people that want a big screen today then plasma is more affordable. I picked up my plasma screen this year for less than i paid for my first lcd computer monitor a few years ago.
As the world gets more digital the tv functions of TV are surplanted by satellite digital and media boxes etc so many screen developers are now concentrating on the screen and not reciever components. This also impacts price for consumers. Beamers and light senstive materials are also moving fast and dropping in price even faster. The Star Trek style video wall is here already just not affordable. yet. |

I have a 57' DLP that i got for only $1,200 but my brother has an LCD and my brother in law a Plasma. While both of theirs look brighter and very crisp, mine was less then 2/3rds the cost. When the plasma one broke it cost him an arm and a leg to get fixed. I get just as many kills if not more on G.R.A.W 2 so i cant complain rly. Not to mention my pc looks great on it =) |
