Is Amy Farrah Fowler ruining The Big Bang Theory

As the title says, what are your thoughts on Amy? I see why the show introduced her, needing more female roles and all that but i think she ruins it, i cant quite put my finger on why, i don't find her character to be believable, and she doesn't fit in with the personality's of Penny and Bernadette. i really am struggling to stay watching because of her.
what are your thoughts if any?

i think this character is what a female would be if she had no contact with females at all. In other words exactly what sheldon deserves Laughing

Yep she is a female 1024gig, sorry a female Sheldon, if I do need to make a cuppa or get to the kitchen and back I do tend to do it when a scene revolves around her though ...... that's after Kate tells me to do it myself of course.

I like her character for the most part. I just wish the writers would back off on the girl crush remarks she makes to Penny all the time. That's kind of getting old now.

its wouldnt make me stop watching it or anything, but i do agree shes not really needed. Bit annoying at times. But i guess it was the only believable way they felt they could introduce a love interest for sheldon.

my comments about not watching anymore were a bit of a winge on my part, i wont stop , theres not much else to enjoy, lol

thats the bit that gets me, Sheldon doesn't really do love interest!
i know characters have to evolve and all that to keep the show going but i think a relationship is not the way to go, hes just not cut out for it, (and yes i know that's the comedy point) come to think of it most the relationships in the show are mismatched and i haven't really engaged in any of them,

I actually think it would be great if he had a love interest, who was kinda his opposite. I think the problem was that they went down the route of getting a 'female sheldon' as it were. I think would have been better if they got someone who was maybe a bit like penny i guess. Someone who despite it going against everything he likes, he still falls for Very Happy

Apart from Sheldon, she's the funniest character on the show. She's an amazing standup comic too. these are some very talented stand up comics many of them, I love the casting on this show. The funniest ones are: Sheldon and Amy, hands down. Then Bernadatte and her bf who are sometimes HILARIOUS. Leonard and Penny are just not that funny, but I guess comedy needs a "straight guy" really to make the others funny. But yeah, Amy is HILARIOUS, I love her! To me, she's almost the star of the show. Amy and Bernadette took this show by storm, they are almost the stars of the show to me. oh man. That bit with Amy and the TIARA recently had us on the floor. Her timing is masterful. She's a comic genious actually, she's right there with Sheldon I expect this could get REALLY funny, just watch...

@keyzz: i dont think its ruined, though i get where you are coming from and i do agree with you about preferring the dynamic before she was introduced.

@misfit2012: play nice, everyone deserves an opinion. if you dont agree, thats fine too, but calling someone stupid doesnt illustrate any kind of constructive arguement...

haven't seen the new character to know, but loving the fact there is now a female version of Sheldon.

so i went on to youtube to search for amy farrah fowler and think she is really blossoming to her role. so i voted a no for go. strange thing is she reminds me of that girl from Blossom.

Amy should stay as she's smarter than Sheldon and funnier than Penny! period..
