How to force a country to change its "backwards" laws?

Well not sure what word to use in the context of what im talking about. I was suggesting international sanctions. I could use the word 'convince', but i think if it gets to that stage of internation sanctions, you are forcing them more than convincing them.

Much as id like to be able use the word 'educate', i dont know if i had the choice, id wait in the hope that a country is educated into changing their laws. Thats the preference yes of course. As i said, that may never happen. So in a perfect world, no, there would be no need to force.

When you say 'try ways of making them change', without forcing them to change, what are you referring to? And as for nothing lasts forever, well, i think thats kinda like burying ones head in sand and hope it fixes itself. Even if it "only" lasts the next 100years then. Still too long. Another year is too long. How long do you define as being long enough to wait?
