if you have trouble downloading the .torrent i hear http://txtor.dwerg.net/ is a good tool to get the file into your torrent client. if you have trouble downloading the contents of the torrent using your client there are several tools.

afn09 is right use google. I use Peer Block to stop a good portion of the anti-piracy bots, but its not foolproof. I hear there is a black market addon for firefox called FireSheep that masks your IP, but I'm canadian and its technically still legal here to torrent so I haven't looked into any of that.

- never admit to or respond to an email, from a so called copyright holder.

for your connection to function your ip has to be known by someone. you are obfusicating your ip not hiding it. dont ever believe your ip cant be found, or you cant be tracked down through the chain of connections.
what matters is the time and effort, and amount of cooperation that the tracker has to negotiate vs the payoff for them.

there are levels of obfusication, such as at the PC where you may setup your operating system with a user account named john doe, or ghksfdf, or your real name. you may never change it or you may change it often.
there many numbers that can be played with to make your machine hard to track on the LAN. then the IP at the WAN level then the ISP at the server interchange level.
