- You can use boolean operators (-, |, OR), wildcards (*, ?), and phrase search (") in your query
- For BitTorrent: Paste in a 40 characters info_hash, to search for that particular torrent and get all trackers for it

My vote is Media Player Classic.
I have road tested both media players recreationally and professionally. By professionally I mean that I often require a versatile media player for my work in the events industry.
For example, a client has organised a charity dinner for 500 people at a top tier venue, and these events invariably include projection screens with which to display various content. I often get handed video files that the jittery client needs integrated with other vision content.
From my experience Media Player Classic Lite (MPC), with its included bundle of codecs, is the most robust, reliable and versatile player, with basic and intuitive controls, no pop-ups, downloads, watermarks or branding of any kind, that could interfere with a clients' video content. I have not yet come across a video file that MPC Lite, with its' bundled codecs, could not play smoothly.
I have however, had issues with VLC, WMP, and other popular video players that have caused some awkward moments.
I use MPC to enjoy my vast collection of video at home.
I am writing this because I have seen a lot of comments of video torrents (film, tv shows etc) on IsoHunt, stating that VLC "does not play the audio correctly" or "jittery video" or various other problems. All I can say is that I never have a problem playing any video file with MPC.
To be fair, some media players (for example WMP), produce a much nicer picture and/or audio, from certain video formats. But for me the reliability, versatility and simplicity of MPC, outweigh everything else. |

i use MPC because it gives me the best vid for my set ups.but everyone should have the CCCP/MPC combo (or a similar player/codec combo they are comforable with) and VLC (it has and uses it own and will not conflict with other codecs).if you want one that neither player will play download anything using VP7 but you can get the individual codec and it will play in MPC.here's a few examples

Both are excellent and i do not see a need for a best of or favourite.
Both are tools to get the job done and either can be used to play almost any video file.
There are for both apps already a number of threads depicting the strengths and versatility of both apps. There are also some useful guides and other info in the forums for these apps.
Please use the search for before making such posts.
Your input is respected but it is better placed in the relevant topic threads.
Thank you. |
