Resident Evil 5 and Resident Evil 5 Gold

Maybe someone knows the answer to this - Does RE 5 and RE 5 Gold play as same game?

I have a copy of both and a friend and I are planing to hook up our 2 PS3 games (2 units, 2 games, 2 Tvs) together to play the game together. I know the 2 player game option is available for 1 machine and 1 disc but that split screen Evil or Very Mad

almost made me miss out on a good game.

I noticed that when I tested the gold edition it loaded separately from my regular disc but it has all the extras I just bought separate for my regular game. With the 2 machines hooked up will it read as the same game? Or do I need to purchase another regular disc to make it work? I didn't realize there would be such a difference. I guess I thought there would be key codes for the extras the gold has that the regular doesn't not re-doing the whole game - silly me. Rolling Eyes
