split screen problem

hi guys,
i am new here, and new to 3D technology, i downloaded two movies, and i am trying to play them on my laptop but both of them showing split screen, i am using HP Envy 3D laptops. the movies i downloaded are in MKV, and when i play on VLC it shows split screen, i have no idea where exactly i am making a mistake , but i really need help here, when i try to play it on cyberlink power DVD player which supports my 3d, it does not show any sign of movie means its not supporting it, pls let me know if i am making any mistake or there are some setting i need to do, i have 3d glasses, my laptop is full 3D, my resolution is on 1920 X 1080, a little help will be appreciated.

is the file name 3d? and have you enabled the 3d option correctly?
