Here I have compiled a small list of methods that can drastically cut down on the amount of scamming:

1. Always ask the individual to post in your thread to verify themselves or better yet, ask them to private message you. If they cannot for ANY given reason, do NOT proceed with the transaction.
2. Always make sure that the contact information is the same (this is to avoid impersonators).
3. Make sure that whatever instant messaging service you are using is saving your logs. Take screenshots!
4. Do a "background check" on the individual.
5. If it sounds too good to be true ... it probably is. Use your brain!
