Are you crazy?

I think it's time for people to accept that downloading is going to be here no matter what any proprietor rants about. They need to enhance security over their products if they don't want them to be downloaded.

No, I will NEVER stop downloading; perhaps I would if the prices came down and the quality went UP.

As it is, here in the UK there is just manufactured pop-crap after manufactured pop-crap. The odd song comes out but as their album is 1 decent song and 12 fillers, the music "industry" can suck my dick before i pay £15+ for that shite!

oh, one more thing .. the industry says piracy is costing xyz BILLION £££ per year - yeah right, if i couldn't download music/dvds whatever, i would not buy them. so for them to assume that everyone who copied/downloaded a song would buy it is wrong.

gah, i hate the music industry so much

I won't stop downloading until MPAA and RIAA and any other copyright BS laws are dead. People torrent because of the such outrageous prices on CDs and DVD's. And people who call p2p networks a national threat are idiots. As in the song F*ck the M-P-A-A, F*ck the R-I-A-A.

Everything has its consequences...downloading music can cause hundreds of dollars in repairs. If we choose to do it, we accept the risks.

Somewhat like having sex without a condom. You risk stds. Likewise with the internet.

I love my music but I don't see why I should have to pay the £15+ price tag when the band will only get a small portion of that money.

While downloading means musicians get even less a piece of the pie and a lot of them deserve to be paid (although others get paid ridiculously too much).

My view is that downloading makes them have to work harder to achieve sales. I’ll still buy CDs if I really like the person. Downloading on the other hand allows you to sample different artists / genres that you wouldn’t if you had to dish out your hard earnt cash.

Downloading means musicians have to rely more on revenue from concerts which is a huge plus for those of us that live down under – more and more performers are coming to Oz these days than they ever used to.

Hell, I would download my own mother.

I totally support the artists I listen to by purchasing their vinyl.

Great statement dude !
But I agree that when I like something I DL'ed I also buy it. With me it is not music/vinyl but games.
The great thing about these torrents is that you can have like a preview of the game and see if it is worth buying for €45.-
Think most people agree.
Cheerz,

I guess at some point technology will surpass my ability to keep up. Then I'll only be able to cuss at all those crazy kids and their techno-babble.

I will if this broadband tracking comes into place although music industries and ISPs are arguing over who should pay at the moment. Laughing
I got a virus from downloading once and had to wipe my computer and dramatically cut down how much I download but I am alot more careful with what I download now.
I only download music to see if I like. If I do I buy, if not it gets deleted.
Movies I rarely download.
Software, only office because it is so expensive and I hate OpenOffice.
TV I don't alot.

I do stop, when I get everything I need. Oh, wait, that's never. lol

I like having everything I'll ever want or need, so I don't see myself stopping any time soon. And, of course, at the rate my hard drives die, I'll constantly have to be re-downloading stuff I already have (even that I've paid for ;_Wink

Sometimes it's spur-of-the-moment, hear some music oyu've just gotta have, and boom, dl it. Sometimes it's a program you need to use for like 2 hours, then never again. So, boom, dl it.
