i think i have been digging my self into a hole for a while....

i have used WinAmp (currently version 5.6) for playing music for about 5 years and over time have built playlists containing my own genres of music such as "isoHunt Dj's" 500+ tracks, "Chilled Out Electro Meditational Sleep Music" 400+ tracks and "Grunge" 300+ tracks. I want to make a data disc of these playlists and can't burn data discs with WinAmp.

If i export the playlist it creates a M3u playlist but i like to listen to my music on shuffle - do any WinAmp users or isoHunt Heros know how to export the playlist to a program where it will burn each track individually or will i have to re-create the playlists i have edited for the last 2 years? I could do this in Windows Media Player, which would take a long time, i also find using WMP "clunky" and my version (11.0.6002.18311) seems to have a mind of its own sometimes - so is there a better player i could or should use?

i have trawled the help and WinAmp forums but they are far inferior to the information regularly available here.

many thanks in advance -

Junkhed, I think you should have made your own thread in hardware with
this really, Rolling Eyes

why not burn them to disc, insert the burned off disc in your drive & select
the drive to want to use in media player then select random play,
of course this only works for one disc at a time though,
if the tracks are burned off in the same order as they were originally made
you should be able to update track info in wmp,
is there some reason you can't do this ?

the trouble is when i export the playlist (winamp will not burn data disc) it saves as a M3U playlist - which is all the tracks in the order of the playlist but as one continuous file.....i was thinking there was a plugin i could get or an alternative program....

( maybe should have opened new thread but i'm up for using existing ones if it's appropriate ) won't bang on about here too long if it is in the wrong place - i know this is a poll and everything.......

MODS - if it's a prob, let me know - thanks

Junkhed mp3DirectCut will split your long continuous playlist into individual songs ...... it's a free download from techspot. Does other stuff aswell.

Me, I play nothing on my system, just use it for ripping/encoding/uploading.

YOU da Man Rob!! You da man!!! thanks a lot buddy! i'll give it a try and get back to ya - Thanks again all !!

EDIT:

Don't flippin' believe this - i had the right program all along - Mr. Meads mp3cutter was cool but didn't recognise any of the file formats that WinAmp saves as so tried to convert with Switch Sound Converter and this will cut up all the M3U files up into individual tracks (although it never said that on the tin)

Thanks all who looked into this and helped me out - i wouldn't have tried this with your helps - might go on the WinAmp forums and be a smart arse now!!! LOL -

and just for the record looks like i'm sticking with WinAmp for music and VLC for Video - oh and isoHunt for my technical help - Very Happy
