Same setup didn't work for me. I used imageburn with verbatim dvd-r and sony dvd-r burnt at 2.4 speed. I have an ntsc wii with the 4.0 update. Just got the black screen after hitting start.

Softmodded Wii--Firmware 4.0U-- NeoGamma R4, IOS249 (Rev 13) backup loader. Anyone know if this will work for me before I spend 2 days downloading? The heads-up is much appreciated.

dudes you reading to much into it...it nothing to do with firmware as im on 3.1 and this works,its ya cios 38 rev thats old,update new on with the new neo gamma and works fine...firmware not important,just the cios

oh by the way i burn on + discs,- discs on the fastest burn speed and no probs...idiots who say you need special discs are talking rubbish..i use 4 for a £1 discs and have had no probs and iv chipped 78 wiis and burnt over a 1000 games

same here, can't load the iso from Wii brick blocker or WBSF manager. No good.
